The perfect base for family adventures

We booked the Wassail Barn mainly for its location next to Cedar Gorge and only a short drive between Weston and Glastonbury. The Barn was perfect. Lovely comfortable beds and sofa, perfect rainfall shower, and great facilities. The parking is at the back of the property which is perfect when you're unloading and have kids to keep an eye on. I also highly recommend the The Somerset Sausage Company 2 minutes down the road. Home made sausages in many flavours for less than supermarket prices. The also do gluten free! We plan on heading further down the coast next year, and want a few days lay over on the way down, so we will definitely be back.

Lovely cottage. Dog Friendly, homely, good location.

Dog friendly. Amber was friendly & helpful with local information. Easy to find. Property was a good size. Guest shared garden was across the driveway & was secure & nice to sit in. Can walk across the fields to the village without going on the road. Village has cafe, village shop, Indian restaurant & pubs.

An added bonus would have been, if the little patio in front of the cottage was fenced, would have been able to open the doors without putting the dogs on the lead. This would not stop me staying here again

Lovely cottage, we enjoyed our stay.

The kitchen was very well equipped and everything was gleaming and new. Comfortable beds, good parking. An enclosed garden for the dogs to run around in (although the garden is not next to the cottage, it’s a 5” walk across the car parking gravel) with a table and BBQ for guest use. Amber, the host, was absolutely delightful. Thank you, Amber.

Relaxing, genuinely felt like we were abroad :-)

Location was great for local walks, cycling and road access to the region - Wedmore, Cheddar and beyond. Dog friendly with outside seating area and a shared garden. No issues with Wi-Fi Shower was very good and sofa very comfortable. Well equipped property including laundry. Nice arrival bits and pieces and kitchen basics.

There was nothing about the current set up that was not liked.

A lovely, comfortable, convenient stay - we will definitely come back!

An absolutely lovely property for me and my two teenage daughters to stay for a week while visiting relatives nearby. My bed was extraordinarily comfortable, and my eldest really appreciated the collection of puzzles in the cottage. The hosts were very conscientious. We will absolutely stay here again when in the area, and we told our local family about it for when other folks are visiting and want an alternative to the two B&Bs in town.

A wonderful gem of a place

Accommodation was easy to find, and exactly as described. Warm, cosy, well appointed and very clean. It had everything we needed and then some. Communication from the Host was perfect, and was lovely to meet the four-legged tribe! The location is rural, peaceful and quiet. Bedroom, bed & bedding great. Shower-room wonderful. Lounge with log burner, tv & dvd player - great. Dining area & kitchen - great. Car parking, outdoor garden space & area to sit outside… The closest village Wedmore - lovely shops, & places to eat. Easy access to Wookey, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Clarks Village @ Street …

Lovely place and ideal for visiting other tourist attractions in the vicinity.

The cottage was super! Lovely and clean. The location was perfect for travelling around - just right for Wells, Wookey Hole, Cheddar & Glastonbury. 3.4 Miles from Roger Wilkins Cider farm was perfect! We didn't need the heating on but made the most of the log burner in the living room. A nice selection of DVD's for before the kids bedtime too, as well as a friendly dog next door. We didn't need to contact the owners as we had everything we needed.

The only negative was the mattress in the master bedroom, I didn't find it too comfortable. That's just me being picky though.

Loved the quiet and peaceful location. Lovely barn conversion Good internet. Very clean. Nice hosts and very accomadting Gave us washing powder for the machine. Extra toilet rolls.

TV very small Bunk bed mattress need an upgrade and the second room is very small. We stayed there to visit Glastonbury but it was about 20 mins so it's a bit far Beautiful area though

Tracy the host was very friendly and welcoming. the welcome pack on arrival was extra special and the fact we were encouraged to enjoy the orchard, garden and paddock was lovely.

Perfect little cottage to explore Somerset

A really great find. Cosy little barn conversion in the perfect location for exploring Cheddar Gorge and the local beaches. The hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful, calling me before we arrived to tell us all about the area and great places to visit and eat. The hamper on arrival was a nice touch too - local cheese, cider, bread and sweets for everyone. We were provided with a fire pit when we asked if one was available which was great.

No garden or proper courtyard, just a little table for 2 in front of the barn which overlooked the drive. Plenty of other outdoor space though. Very pet friendly other than the drive wasn't gated so our dog could run out of the house and straight onto a road. Whole place is quite small - looks bigger on the photos (as is always the way!), but particularly the kitchen which needs more workspace and storage. Bottom bunk bed mattress very uncomfortable according to my 11 year old son! The second bedroom with the bunk beds in is very small but fine for children. But none of this deflected from the fact it is a lovely place to stay and we would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay with lovely host in a gorgeous setting

Beautiful barn conversion with lovely bedrooms and bathroom. The outside tables and chairs and paddock add more space to roam around in. And the host is wonderful, Tracy can’t do enough to make you feel at home and help you navigate the area.

Really enjoyed our stay at the property and Tracy was a fantastic host who could not have done anymore to make our stay an enjoyable and relaxing time - Just what we needed! I would strongly recommend the stay to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of the UK. The dogs had a great time too xxxx
