Mayfield Suites

Wonderful hosts! Very helpful, kind and responsive. They were happy for us to leave our bags before we could check in to enjoy the day we had planned, check in was quick and easy. They generously upgraded our room to one with a kitchenette - this really meant a lot and made our week so much easier. Room was wonderful and spacious, comfortable bed. The whole property is well presented and looked after, there is clearly a lot of thought and love that has gone into this BNB. Loved the little touches of complimentary boxes of biscuits, sweets and Victoria plums from the back garden presented in the foyer. Overall, can’t fault our stay and would definitely recommend.

Our room was unusually warm overnight - we asked for a fan, the hosts quickly obliged and we had one in our room when we had returned that day.

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the Mayfield suites. The location, amenities, cleanliness everything was top notch. We are so glad we made the right decision. Bus stop is right next to the suites and this is so close to the central. Just few minutes to the Waverley station. The owner is so kind and such a pleasant person. We had visited Edinburgh first time and I believe it was Best choice for first time visitors for sure. Highly recommended!

Fantastic location, with free parking. Our room was large and well-supplied- it included a fridge and microwave. All the staff were first-rate- they were extremely friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. We will defnitely be booking again and highly recommend.

"I usually book hotels based on the photographs provided; however, upon arrival, the room I was offered bore no resemblance to the images shown on Booking.com. I strongly suggest that the marketing materials be updated to accurately reflect the available rooms and their respective prices. Initially, I was offered a room in the basement, which I immediately declined. I was then informed that the room matching the photographs would require an additional fee, which I find unacceptable given that it was the room I had already booked. I was prepared to leave when the staff offered an alternative room on the main floor. Although it was still not the room I had originally paid for, I accepted it due to exhaustion from a long journey. On a positive note, the property is beautiful, clean, and quiet. The availability of parking was also a significant advantage for me. Furthermore, the location is well-served by public transport, with buses providing easy access to the city center, which is also just a 15-minute drive away. I am sharing this as constructive criticism so that the management can review their online presentation and ensure that the prices and room descriptions are consistent with the reality of the accommodations. The shower was excellent, and the staff member who assisted us was very effective. He went above and beyond to resolve the situation and ensure that we stayed."
