Pleasant enough and very convenient

The location was perfect for us with easy access to a supermarket and we liked the on site car parking. It was relatively quiet. The bed was comfortable enough and we were warm enough staying in January although sometimes the heating was too high and there was no thermostat in the room to control the heating. It was very clean. The bathroom was nice. WE had an issue with a wobbly chair which was resolved very quickly. Deposit was returned quickly.

We had a huge issue at the end of the stay with returning the key and could not get any response from the number listed on the booking. The cooking utensils are sketchy and anticipate you ordering take away. There was no tea towel to dry up, no oven glove and no vegetable peeler.

Excellent base for visiting Derby city centre with a very attentive host

Excellent location on the edge of the city centre - although the building is on a main road, it is set back slightly and, once inside, very quiet. The bathroom was spacious and spotless, the main room equally large with (almost) everything a guest might need. The bed was comfy, and we slept well. Communication by the host was first rate, and it was very easy to locate the key safe and get the keys. The snacks and drinks left by the host were a very nice touch and much appreciated! Would definitely recommend and return to Arbourfield Lodge.

The oven door was dirty (the glass panels in the door need taking out so that the grease stains in between them can be cleaned off), and the ledge beneath the oven door had burnt-on food on it. This wasn’t a huge issue for us as we didn’t intend to use the oven during our stay (and the host was very apologetic when this was reported and made recompense, which was fine), but others may have had a problem with it from a hygiene view. Two other things to note: there was no mirror by any of the plug sockets in the main room, so I had to do my hair using my small makeup mirror - not ideal; and instructions on how to work the television for the less tech-savvy of us would be a good idea (I amazed myself by managing to work out that channels could only be accessed through the “Home” button!)

The hundred pounds damaged tax that I haven't had back yet. When it states it is put back in your bank under 48 hrs after you leaving the property we left on Sunday and we still haven't see it 😡😡
