Le petit Bayeusain

Le Petit Bayeusain is a gem in Bayeux. The flat is spacious, beautifully designed, and meticulously clean, with thoughtful decorative touches that make it feel both unique and romantic. The location could not be better, directly across from one of the best pâtisseries in town, and ideal for walking to the tourist center and many of the main attractions, all while feeling safe. We constantly walked the area which was quaint, full of restaurants, shops, a museum and the British WWWII cemetery. The apartment offers a full kitchen, a washing machine (which was extremely helpful), a large combined living and dining area, and a comfortable bedroom, making it ideal for a longer stay. The shower is excellent, and the overall layout is both charming and functional. A small note for future guests: the staircase is quite large and distinctive, which adds character but may be challenging if you have heavy luggage or mobility concerns. There is no dryer, iron, or closet space, but these were minor trade-offs for such a special and well-appointed space. Overall, this is a truly delightful and memorable place to stay in Bayeux. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

Make sure you have clear arrangements for receiving the keys including the phone number of the lovely flat manager.

Meeting Silvie at check in made the experience more personal and she helped explain the operation of everything we needed to know. She was also available for any questions via messaging and prompt to reply. The apartment was well located and central, yet quiet with its position within the building, backing on to a large private area, so noise was not an issue. Having free parking a 5-6 minute walk away was a bonus. Lucked a spot out the front for loading and unloading our luggage before taking our car to the free parking, but note the street can be busy with limited parking.

We did find the fold out bed frame base wasn’t great, so solved the issue of the sagging by putting the mattress on the floor for better support. A large clothes horse was available to dry clothes after washing them in the machine, but obviously much slower to get our clothes dry. Made good use of the wall heaters to speed up the process. Otherwise the apartment was suitable for our needs.

Es liegt sehr zentral und bietet viel Platz. Es ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und war sauber. Sylvie hat uns super nett an der Eingangstuer empfangen und sehr ausführlich über alles informiert.

Jedoch muss ich sagen, das auch vieles in die Jahre gekommen ist. Ein Austausch der Waschmaschine wäre zu empfehlen und der Einbau einer Spülmaschine! Aber was am meisten stört ist, die Wohnung liegt in einem Gebäude im Innenhof. Man schaut nur auf Wände. Dies war in der Beschreibung so nicht zu erkennen. Ein Blick ins grüne oder auf die Straße fehlt. Das Haus ist schon ordentlich runter gekommen.

Slyvie was great! This was one of our favorite stays in France. It was so charming and quintessential French. The apartment was large and had a great kitchen space. It was located in the heart of the city center. It was the perfect spot to stay while we explored the D Day beaches.
