Relaxing stay in pretty hotel near beach

I loved this place and hope to come back

Charming, comfortable, and clean. The rooftop patio and pool are heavenly, with a spectacular view and a very talented bartender. Cocktails here a must try. The management and front desk staff are very courteous and go out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast in the hotel dining room is scrumptious. The hotel is conveniently located near the beach and good beachfront seafood restaurants.

Wifi and mobile service is a bit slow, but that might be a common problem in this part of Mexico. The hotel might also consider improving security systems and processes.

Quite noisy for a hotel with older clients. Sounds is amplified by the courtyard. Walls seemed super thin. We could hear our neighbors conversations. Shower took forever to heat up.

Cozy place near the beach

A lovely place to stay, with a cosy room and a nice terrace. It is very close to the beach, just a few minutes' walk away. Located in cute, calm street. The staff is exceptionally helpful, even if struggling to speak english tries their best to help. The bonus is that there are drinkable water stations on each floor, which was really nice to have.

I must say sound isolation is not the best in the room; if your neighbours are a bit noisy and you are a light sleeper, it would be an issue. The restaurant closes very early, so if you are planning to have your dinner at the hotel, it's not going to work. Otherwise, I had breakfast there, the food portions were big, and it tasted good. Other restaurants are a bit further away in town, so need to keep that in mind when planning your stay.

It wasn’t clean at all, there were details inside that make the room look very old and rusty. So simple and uncomfortable.

Very nice stay in a good location between the swimming beaches and la punta.

I loved the plants on the interior and the rooftop was a good vibe that was calm, and had a lovely sea breeze. The pool was slightly bigger than I thought which was nice.

The rooms are very basic. They have what you need, and have air con, but no more. No fridge to keep anything cold etc.

Warm Oaxcan hospitiality, near the beach and downtown

Hotel Flor de Maria is in a lovely, traditonally styled building with a good ocean view, deck and pool. The rooms are simple but nicely decorated. The staff is extremely friendly, warm and helpful. The restaurant offered good, home-cooked breakfasts. The air conditoning worked well in both of the rooms that we had. Taxis requested by the hotel always arrived quickly and ontime

The shower in our original room was backed up by beach sand but the staff quickly moved us to a better room where everything worked well. The internet via wifi cut in and out.

We stayed at Hotel Flor De Maria for 3 nights and wouldn’t rush back. I got food poisoning on the first night from the hotel restaurant. The electricity was out for one whole day during our trip. The wifi barely worked as well. Also no drinking water at all at the property and no hot water in our shower.

The hotel is well located just in front of the Bahia Principal. The rooms are spacious, the bed comfy and the common areas are very nice.

I rented a King room with a private patio. The night before check in was told that room had an issue and “would be under maintenance”. I was accommodated in another King w/o patio. During my stay (8 days) the room with the patio was occupied by others the entire week. Hmmm…

Relaxing, rejuvenating, refreshing

The location was perfect, 2 mins walk from the beach and exactly in the middle between Zicatela and the town centre. The building is beautiful and very clean, staff super friendly and helpful. Gorgeous roof top swimming pool, amazing views of the ocean. Will 100% stay again. Also cold water fountains on every floor so we used minimum plastic while we stayed

Noisy, average room made up for by the incredible roof terrace

The rooftop area is stunning and easily the best thing about the hotel. There is a well-stocked bar with snacks, a range of hammocks and other seating and a nice little pool to cool off in, with views over the ocean. I would go back to this hotel just for the roof terrace. The room was very clean and moderately comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to the beach, and about a 15-20 minute walk to the main tourist area with bars and restaurants. The communal areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated with hand-painted doors and lots of tropical plants. There is free filtered water (hot and cold) available 24/7.

There was a lot of road noise, especially with the window open which was absolutely necessary given the heat. There is no AC and the ceiling fan isn't great. The staff didn't explain how to use the ceiling fan when we arrived - other guests should be aware that setting 5 is the lowest speed and setting 1 is the fastest! The toilet kept filling throughout the first night, which disturbed us as there is a gap in the wall between the toilet and bedroom. The water pressure in the shower is very low. The room was pretty basic but comfortable enough for a couple of nights.

Overall good value money but check where you want to be

The room was big enough for two. The roof terrace was nice with a little swimming pool and a nice bar. The staff was very nice and welcoming. It was good to get new/fresh beach towels every day. There’s free water refills.

There’s no air conditioning which is a must in the town. The location is not great if you wanna spend time in Punta Zicatela but it’s easy to rent a scooter.

A very nice place to spend a few days exploring.

Nice welcome drink, plenty of water to refill our bottle, very close to the beach but very quiet too. Best of all was the rooftop pool, bar and hammocks, with great view of the beach and puerto.

Worked for this time, cannot recommend it to others

Location on the beach was great. Breakfast restaurant very good, food and service. Upper terrace has a nice view, pool, sitting area.

Room itself was tiny, not cleaned regularly, bathroom old and grotty. Need better housekeeping, changing towels often, deal with garbage and sewer smell.

The hotel is at walking distance to the beach and you get seaview from the rooftop. Great sunset view! The room is big and pretty (standard double room). The area is quiet, but you can still reach the restaurant/bar area walking on the beach.

The bathroom has a big hole to the room (close to the ceiling), so no privacy... The shower was dirty from the beginning, they cleaned the room, but the shower remained dirty, like they skipped that part.

Lovely rooftop with plenty of hammocks, loungers and tables with chairs. A great view out to sea where we spotted a couple of passing whales! Staff were all very friendly. Offered complimentary drink at check in.

Séjour exécrable dans un hôtel hors de prix pour ce qu'on vous offre. Honteux

L'hôtel bénéficie d'un bon emplacement à proximité de la playa marinero. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est très bon avec des prix corrects. Le rooftop est agréable avec une belle vue.

La chambre était très sombre car la seule fenêtre donnait sur le couloir intérieur. Elle était très sale et vieille, avec des meubles cassés, de la peinture écaillée partout et beaucoup de traces d'humidité. Le lit est en ciment avec un matelas inconfortable posé sur le ciment. Nous avons trouvé des cafards dans la chambre. Faire payer 2000 MXN hors saison pour cette chambre dans ce vieil hôtel sale, mal entretenu et sans petit déjeuner est du vol pur et simple. Ma pire expérience au Mexique (et j'y vais chaque année depuis 8 ans).

Herrlich, um hier im Ort anzukommen. Blieben nur eine Nacht, wurden herzlich empfangen. Der erste Sundowner auf der coolen Dachterrasse mit Pool ging aufs Haus. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen vorzüglich. Alles sehr liebevoll hier. Muchas gracias.

Pésima relación calidad-precio

En auto fue fácil desplazarse para conocer el puerto. Excelente la limpieza y buena la atención del personal. Ambiente tranquilo, buena conexión de internet y acceso a agua potable en cada piso. Lamentablemente los muebles de la habitación requieren reparaciones y el baño una remodelación. El sistema de descarga de agua del excusado no funcionaba y la taza no tenía tapa. Al reportarlo, no pudieron ofrecer otra habitación y hubo que esperar la reparación del día siguiente, sólo explicaron que tenían poco que habían vuelto a abrir.

El horario de la alberca era limitado a las nueve de la noche y aunque dijeron que podíamos permanecer en la terraza, apagaban las luces. Para hablar a la recepción teníamos que bajar. No había pantalla en la habitación.

La propreté, la terrasse, la climatisation efficace et les lits sont très confortables.

L'ensemble de l'hôtel est vétuste. Les douches sont sous-equipées. De plus, notre chambre communique directement sur les couloirs et sur la salle de bain du voisin. Nous avons entendus les gens discuter a 7h dans le couloir ainsi que le voisin prendre sa douche. Ce qui n'est pas très agréable. De plus, nous étions, a priori en période de travaux, le personnel n'était pas très disponible pour servir au restaurant ou au bar

Las instalaciones estuvieron bien, la ubicación y la limpieza estuvo muy bien. El personal es muy amable. La camada y la habitación son cómodas.

La habitación que pagué no fue lo que esperaba, pagué por una habitación con “vista al mar” pero cuando llegué no me dieron una habitación con vista al mar. El internet no llegaba hasta la habitación donde estábamos, agarraba muy poca señal, no salía mucha agua de la regadera.
