Wonderful location, very quiet but not far from Dumfries and M76

Really enjoyed our brief stay in this cottage,

Breakfast was lovely, delivered to the cottage at a time to suit us. The cottage was easy to find with the directions given and exactly what we needed as an overnight stop travelling home. Comfortable and very warm for a cold February night. Eleanor was an excellent host, friendly and very good at communicating.

The doors to the living room and bathroom don’t close completely, which is not ideal when sharing with friends, especially the bathroom door.

Peaceful, quiet and it has everything you needed.

We didn’t see anyone at all and there wasn’t a welcome pack so it didn’t feel particularly welcoming. We didn’t feel like we could walk around and explore at all.

Lovely location, lovely owners

Beautiful location, the weather was awful but that’s not the fault of the establishment. Will definitely be back next year to enjoy the spring/summer.

Pleasant

The self contained flat was good. Had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Although it didn't have a freezer which I needed. But it did have a fridge.

Lovely wee farm cottage

It was very conveniently located near to an event we were attending. It was quiet and we felt safe. Our cottage was very spacious for the 3 of us. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast items (fresh bread, jam & eggs) were delicious. The farm dog, Maple, was lovely.

The bathroom door was warped and was hard to close. The outdoor lights did not work when we were going out at night in the dark.

Beautiful place to stay, lovely hosts.

What an amazing stay! We stayed in the Annex off the main house and would highly recommend it. The Annex is lovely, so roomy for the 4 of us. The girls went out to explore the grounds with Eleanor’s children they are so lovely, the kids had so much fun plus playing with the dogs. Would definitely stay again in future.

That we only stayed 1 night! We should have stayed for longer!

Charming farm stay

The location was beautiful, and being located on the farm was great, especially when we woke up to sheep outside the window. The cottage had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. I was really impressed by the owner, who was really helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome.

There was no where to hang up clothes, which was a very minor thing

Nice location, lacking some facilities

Quiet and clean

Wasn’t clear about the WiFi on arrival with no signal and no welcome information. The WiFi kept dropping out too. There was no dish soap or cleaning products. Had to ask at the neighbours.

Very comfortable cottage in a great location. Great value for money

Warm; cosy; very comfortable beds. Had a great relaxing time and a good sleep. Shower and running hot water was fab. Cottage met and often exceeded expectations. Host was friendly and happy to help. Youngest daughter and son loved watching the sheep and seeing them being sheared.

No dislikes to speak off as I was only there one night and the cottage was so comfortable. I do love sitting in a garden and that wasn’t really an option here. No freezer compartment however fridge was large and fitted kitchen is of a high quality.

A very cosy stay

The cottage was cosy & welcoming. It had everything we needed for a couple of days stay. We enjoyed having some farm eggs & homemade jam, pickles & bread. Great communication from the host which was appreciated. Directions to property clear & easy to follow.

Beautiful location and Eleanor, the host, was lovely and very helpful. Accommodation was clean and equipped.

Just a small thing but due to the fact that its location is so remote, it would have been nice to have had some basic provisions like milk, washing up liquid etc provided.

The bed was comfortable , and the shower had lovely hot water and was a nice shower

The futong/ sofa bed being used as a sofa is really not fit for purpose other than sleeping on .i couldn’t get down low enough to sit down . So after and exhausting day wasn’t great I could r sit apart from a hard wood seat . Shame no tea and coffee , considering the distance to a shop . Never been to an air bnb without this supplied even if enough to make one ? . Bathroom door did not shut so anyone could see you on the loo when walking past .

Peaceful stay easy directions and Everythink you would need to stay small kitchen but had most things you might need to cook a meal.

This worked perfectly as a stop over for us en route to Oban.

Sadly we didn’t have time for breakfast as we had to leave early .

The only (minor ) issue was a humming noise in the smaller bedroom (fuse box?) which my friend did find disturbed her a little .

The cottage was cosy, comfortable, clean, warm and simply laid out and decorated. The facilities were more than adequate and easy to use. It had quite a 'homely' feeling to it. Located on a working farm in beautiful countryside with amazing views and very friendly and hospitable owners. We would be more than happy to go back again.

No major issues for ourselves but there were some issues with the TV reception.

A very nice cottage in a very nice location..

The cottage and the location and facilities were great.

The bathroom door was so badly warped that it was impossible to shut. It needed replacing. I am a carpenter so I would have sourced a new door quite cheaply and installed it within 2 hours. Otherwise the cottage was great.

A home from home in a beautiful part of the countryside

The cottage, part of a working farm, is set in a stunning slice of countryside not too far from civilisation, but remote enough that it feels as though you're living on the frontiers of a different century. The cottage itself is modern and spacious, containing everything you'll need to cook meals and stay snug, warm and cosy in a little home from home. Shower is good, you can access your streaming services through the TV, and the beds are very comfortable. The hosts were on-hand and helpful, and the next morning they were kind enough to let my young sons help collect eggs from the hens and feed the sheep. I would definitely recommend to other travellers, including those with young families, and we would definitely stay there again.

We came to the property quite late as daughter was too ill to make the long trip home The couple who run this are lovely and we had a little tour of the farm before leaving Fabulous little property and perfect for a retreat on a working farm and lots of walking nearby

Even though the location was a little isolated.The road from the A76 to the farm was a little difficult to negotiate. Apart from that, i have no complaints So peaceful and quiet,had a wondeful nights sleep. The owners were very accommodating and helpful.

Loved that it was in the middle of the country side and was an actual working farm. The little book describing the property was so cute.

The sofa was too low although it worked fine as a bed. There was a phone left in the property, phoned the farm to let them know and also to order some jam but got no response. We couldn't have the breakfast as there was no vegan and gluten free option available.

Suited what I needed it for, kitchen set up all good, shower etc all good.

Certainly very peaceful, would be lovely to go out and see the stars on a clear night. Looks as if the owner has done a lot of work fitting out the cottage.

It’s not a “didn’t like” more an observation. Can understand why there was a sofa bed in the living room but the room missed something (like a comfy chair to sit in), bedroom comfy but basic, lacked a bit of softness (?) more interesting pictures perhaps? Slightly odd having the only in and out via the single bed bedroom, but clearly trying to make the most of the space. Not sure what I’d have done instead.
