Lovely cottage in a wonderful location

Lovely cottage with private garden in the countryside. Nice views and not too far from Dumfries centre. Good location for traveling to many places. Everything you need in the cottage includes large flat screen TV with dvd player and dvds. Also many games and books. Bedrooms were very spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfy, as was the sofa. It was very peaceful and quiet - only the sound of wildlife. I wish we had been able to take a couple more days yhere.

The cottage is beautifully presented, all the usual items are present including a nesprsesso machine. The setting and surrounding area are beautiful, quiet and safe.

the master bed was a little squeaky and one socket didn't function, but the host was very open to feedback and I'm sure this won't be an issue for future patrons.

Pleased with the cottage and the beautiful countryside -shame about the roadworks!

Spacious cottage set in scenic location just outside Dumfries. The cottage was well equipped. Peaceful location but the host was easy to contact if necessary. Loved being able to see red kites circling in the distance.

Unfortunately our view of Dumfries was coloured by the fact that there were major road works in Dumfries and the surrounding area and sometimes the traffic was gridlocked on the outskirts of the town.

A brilliant place to stay

We loved everything about Laundry Cottage- its quiet location, the brilliant enclosed garden and the lovely interior with everything needed for a great stay. It's in a good location for getting to other places too- we visited some great places, all within a 40-minute drive. The beds were really comfortable, with high quality bedding, and the towels were great too. Everything was clean, and all the kitchen utensils and crockery were plentiful, and in great condition. There was everything needed for a self catering stay. Met the host a couple of times, and she was really lovely, and always available if needed. Would highly recommend the cottage.

There was nothing to dislike, though the single track road to the property is "interesting". Didn't meet much traffic, but there are places to pass if needed

Rural location great for a relaxing comfortable sojourn.

Rural idyll with great views, easy to locate on narrow lanes. Read the helpful directions from the Owner. Part of the beautiful Newlands Country Estate Double check your route before leaving home as your sat nav could take you the wrong way! Also Apple CarPlay for whatever reason wanted to locate the destination in a completely different place - suggest you ignore/doublecheck! Please remember your 'fridge items' + essentials - it's nowhere near a shop! Very comfortable bed; Spacious bathroom downstairs was fine for us; Kitchen was bijou but v well equipped. Relaxing. Garden was secure for our dogs who enjoyed, as we did, the walks around Laundry Cottage and surrounding grounds.

Family Break

Peaceful and cosy cottage in a superb location. The cottage it’s self was very clean with all the essentials you need supplied. As my kids were keen on the horses Corrina took some time out of her day to allow the kids to groom and spend time with one of her horses which made their holiday. Such a friendly host who always made time to speak to the kids and answer any of their question. The use of tennis court was another big plus. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the countryside. Will be returning for sure.

Cosy getaway .

Laundry cottage was cosy and comfortable and perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean on arrival. Corrina the host was friendly and checked that we had everything we needed for our stay.

The cottage was quiet and in beautiful surroundings. Mrs Duncan couldn’t be more helpful. One thing finding the place is not a problem when you know how. Get directions confirmed it is worth it!
