Churchside House

Cottage was in a good area to travel to surrounding areas and explore the peaks. Good attractions and a good variety of pubs - we travelled out to Bakewell and Matlock bath. The cottage is well equipped in the kitchen and large bedrooms.

Lounge area - front door could do with a little more security. The sofa are not the comfiest, feather cushions that again were not comfy and not suitable for allergies. The cleaning could be improved, a little more attention to detail - dust on window boards and curtain rails. The shower could do with the tiles having a scrub in between the grout. The church bells go off every 15 minutes, can be heard more in the top floor bedroom.

Churchside House is perfectly located to walk into Matlock town through the lovely Hall Leys Park in just 5 minutes. Meanwhile the spacious home lets in loads of natural light and offers a great view over Matlock from the kitchen. It's a smart and cosy place and the perfect base for any Matlock visit. (Consider if the steep hill is suitable for you if you have accessibility issues though).

The church next door offers a lovely stroll to enjoy the panoramic views, but as should be obvious from the name, you should enjoy church bells! If not though closing the windows is sufficient to soundproof effectively.

Generally very clean and comfortable.

Very loud Church bell's every 15 minutes. Do not park outside the house nearest the church even if you are unloading or loading. Always park up at the pub carpark as some one crashed into our parked vehicle. We left a night earlier and our last evening and day there were spoiled. Would not stay here again even though the place was nice

No code for the WiFi, no freezer box in the fridge, a little dirty in places.
