Our room was very spacious and had everything we could need, staff were very helpful and friendly as soon as we walked in to the hotel to the minute we left.
The safety deposit taken at check in takes 10-14 business days to go back into your account which we were not made aware of, i generally don’t mind but would be nice to know in future.

The hotel itself is finished to such a polished high standard. Everything felt slick, clean and stylish. We checked in for a nights stay for my 30th birthday and the hotel kindly surprised us with an upgrade, a bottle of bubbles, some sweet treats and a lovely card. We also got to check in early with no bother. It was so touching to be made to feel special. The room itself was beautiful, really unique and comfy. Everything you could need was available in the room from a wireless charger (my husband forgot his charger so this was great) to a steamer to umbrellas, tote bags, comfy robes and slippers and more. The bed was so comfy. We had breakfast included in our stay at SUSHISAMBA. The restaurant is stunning and views of Edinburgh are wonderful. It was a lovely breakfast, very generous. The location of the hotel is perfect for an Edinburgh getaway. We will 100% be back and be recommending to all our friends and family.
The doors to the toilet and shower weren’t completely private which felt a little intrusive (frosted glass). Wouldn’t put me off staying again though!

The shower/toilet area. Because it’s not private glass you could see and hear to much for our liking

Our stay at W Edinburgh was truly exceeded all expectations.
From the very first moment, the staff made the difference. The reception experience was outstanding — Maricca welcomed us with genuine warmth, professionalism, and care, making us feel immediately valued and at home. Her approach perfectly reflects what true 5-star hospitality should be.
The room cleanliness was flawless throughout our stay. Housekeeping was extremely professional, efficient, and thoughtful, keeping the room perfectly clean, well-organized, and comfortable every day. Their work was discreet, useful, and of a very high standard.
Breakfast was another major highlight. The à la carte breakfast was excellent, high quality, fresh, and beautifully presented. Special thanks to Zee for her kindness, positive attitude, and consistently professional service, which made every morning a pleasure.
A very special thank you goes to Kijean, the Guest Relations Manager. His professionalism, attention to detail, and personal care made our stay feel truly special. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary treats almost every day, which added a generous and thoughtful personal touch.
The location is perfect — close to major monuments, transportation, restaurants, and shops, all within easy walking distance.
Our room was spacious, very quiet, beautifully designed, and uniquely decorated, with a fantastic balcony. The high-end amenities were impressive, including a smart touch control panel that allowed us to control lighting, temperature, and even the curtains, adding a true modern luxury feel.
This hotel doesn’t just claim to be 5-star — it genuinely delivers. In fact, it feels like five stars and even more.
Staying here felt like a dream, and we will definitely return again.
Highly recommended.

The staff couldn’t have made our stay any more perfect.
Thank you all.
We had booked a twin room, we were upgraded to a suite which was kind but we had to share a bed (or one of us use a cot bed).

The location is perfect for exploring the city. The breakfast is incredible and the view is the best in Edinburgh.
I booked the hotel for my husband’s 40th as a surprise, when we arrived they said they would like to give us a room upgrade. I was extremely grateful for this. They explained it would be a little wait for the room at this point it was about 2.30pm so we were fine about it and went to do some shopping. After an hour we hadn’t heard anything so decided to head back, they explained it still wasn’t ready and gave us a drinks token. Cut a long story short after 3 and half hours I was getting very frustrated….they kept offering us drinks tokens but as you can imagine we didn’t want to get drunk. I needed to get to the room as I had a bit surprise party for my husband at 8pm. We have two tiny children so to be in the room on time would have been such a treat as it was our first night away and we wanted to get ready and feel good. We ended up not seeing much of the room and had to head out. Left feeling very disappointed.

I didn’t have breakfast.
Small issue, ordering tea for the room late evening, on returning from an event elsewhere, we waited at least 20 minutes for it to arrive. I appreciate it is a a big hotel and possibly busy but at almost midnight that seemed rather a long wait.

Impressive building.
Comfortable room.
Good gym facilities.
Offered a refreshment at the time of check in.
Check in was delayed due to not being able to allocate me a room.
Wasn't given instructions on how to find my room or how to operate the lifts.
The room had a "seaside" odour which was slightly overpowering when you first enter the room

The staff were excellent, always a smile and can we help you. Just perfect. I would recommend this hotel. Great location for all shops and restaurants. I would come back again, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a break in Scotland's Capital City.
I thought it was a tad expensive. Other than that I could not fault this excellent hotel and it's staff, who showed a willingness to please. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Location, gym and great beds.
The spa access is not included and nowhere does it explicitly state that. Pretty weird for a 5 star hotel. The access fee is at least 60 GBP.

Great location
Really nothing positive regarding the hotel and our stay
Poor organisation at check in long queue
Room not ready after designated time many guests sitting waiting for rooms
Eventually got into room but had to wait an hour for cases to arrive
Deluxe room which was little bigger than a box room with 2 windows Oh view green tarpaulin on a building under construction
Toilet shoebox size my husband’s knees touched the wall and he couldn’t move arms much
Little space between toilet and bed so privacy not good We felt cramped and glad to leave the next day You could really only stay one night
Had to pay for WIFI Falks so far short of a 5 star hotel

Room and toiletries were excellent, location was great and easy to get to shops and restaurants
No cosy bar, lobby bar was never manned so felt impersonal, rooftop bar had great views but service was slow and queues were terrible on Friday evening. Mini bar in room had everything but no wine so wasn’t able to use.

Wanted to book another night but was told id have to do it on the website. Bit strange surely they could do it at the reception???

Location was perfect; a quiet spot right in the heart of Edinburgh with a view to die for from the restaurant at the top.
The staff were delightful. Genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and enjoy ensuring their guests were having a good time. From the moment we engaged with reception we felt welcome.
I'm not a fan of toilets separated from bedrooms by opaque glazing. And whilst the rooms really were funky, I'd still rather have a separate bathroom with a door rather than a separated area for ablutions.
The restaurant food was very good, but the menu is quite limited.

Only location
I booked W Edinburgh for my honeymoon expecting a memorable experience, but unfortunately it turned out to be the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.
The room was extremely disappointing – it had no proper windows, only a skylight, which was never shown in the photos on Booking. It was located on the top floor and felt uncomfortable and depressing. I requested a room change multiple times during my 3-night stay, but the staff showed no sympathy and offered no solutions, despite my repeated follow-ups.
Housekeeping was also below expectations. Even with daily cleaning, the room remained dusty and far from the standard you would expect from a hotel of this level.
On top of all this, the price was outrageously high – AED 10,000 for 3 nights – and absolutely not worth it considering the poor service, lack of cleanliness, and overall bad experience.
This was supposed to be a special trip, but instead it left me embarrassed in front of my wife. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, and sadly this was by far the worst. If I had known, I would have booked another hotel at a quarter of the price with much better service.
I cannot recommend this hotel and will never return.

- Bed was comfortable and spacious
- well stocked mini bar
- Built in bedside wireless charging pads
- Modern aesthetic
- TV position off to the side of the bed was weird
- Hand soap was missing from bathroom and took a couple of calls to resolve
- Shower water pressure was weak
- There was no suitable desk to work comfortably on with a small laptop. Neither was there a conference room or office style space that could be used either. Not great for work purposes
