This was a comfortable place to stay, with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room downstairs - plus and extra guest toilet. We loved the downstairs area, which was really comfortable and beautifully designed and laid out. It was what we'd call a "statement" room - big, bright, airy and spacious, but still comfortable and homely. The kitchen and dining zone of the room was modern and fresh, the kitchen units and appliances were stylish and contemporary, and everything was meticulously clean.
We also appreciated the supplies of drinks and snacks left by our hosts, which was a nice surprise.
The location was like a rural oasis in the city, very quiet and peaceful, and unlike almost anywhere else you'll find in Edinburgh.
And hopefully we'll get the chance to stay there again.
We really liked this place, so we don't want to say anything that sounds negative. We had a problem with one of the bathrooms. We couldn't figure out how to get the water in one shower to run hot, and we couldn't work out if that was the shower or us.
Because it's a two-storey house and the bedrooms and showers are up a steep flight of stairs, it isn't wheelchair-accessible. That wasn't an issue for us, but it might be for others.
The location was great for us, but it might not be to everyone's liking. It's not far from Haymarket and the West End by bus (and a walk) or taxi, it's within a 15-minute walk of Murrayfield, and it was an easy taxi ride from the airport. It also has a lovely "rural" feel to it even though it's only about 3 km from Princes Street. But if you're visiting Edinburgh and relying on public transport it is a little awkward to get to. Also, because there's a steep rise near the end of the lane leading to the property you might find it too much of a walk if you were slow on your feet or pushing a child in a buggy. It worked for us, but it might not be for everyone.

The house is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean throughout the whole space. The host is incredibly kind, thoughtful and very welcoming. They even prepared a nice variety of snacks for us during our stay, which was such a lovely and unexpected touch. Everything made our trip extra comfortable and pleasant
