Far above anything else in this market

Self catering but the generous supply of provisions provided was superior to anything encountered in 60 years of self catering throughout England and Wales. This includes annual visits to Somerton for several decades to visit family and we usually stay in Lynch House B&B in town for two nights. Could not enjoy the superb breakfast there for longer and we are very pleased that we were able to secure The Forge for four nights

At our age and my medical issues the steps from the bedroom to the bathroom were a problem but we managed and will visit again if we can

A beautiful, quiet village setting for a comfortable stay in a luxurious, spacious cottage.

Clean, spacious accommodation with large, comfortable bed and super-equipped kitchen with milk, butter, cereals, tea/coffees selection provided, plus extra towels for our stay. Mark was very welcoming, kind and helpful throughout.

Gem of Glastonbury

The property is so well equipped , has everything you could need , the interior is very thoughtfully laid out spacious and very comfortable, the host Mark is very friendly very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area . A must book in the Glastonbury area ! We took two children with us 8 + 10 and get had two very comfortable chair beds in the lounge

I would recommend this property! Excellent!

This is an exceptional cottage which has been renovated to a very high standard. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and everything you need for a holiday!

The sat nav took me right to within 50m of the property although I couldn’t see a sign with the name of the property! (probably my poor eye sight!!)

A fantastic, hidden little gem!

In a very beautiful and peaceful part of the country, what’s not to like about this fantastic little gem? A comfortable and spacious guest house which the time and effort put into making it such is very apparent throughout. From the characterful interior to the very cosy beds, It’s immaculately clean and perfectly equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The friendly hosts are very hospitable and generous, with mark greeting on arrival and insuring you have everything you need, even leaving complimentary little goodies as well. You are made to feel exceptionally welcome from the start and this made our stay all the more pleasurable and relaxed. The property itself is surrounded by beautiful walks in the Countryside right from the front door, and is in close proximity to a fantastic local pub/restaurant and a short way from the beautiful street and Clark’s village. The Old Forge was a wonderful find for us, one which we will be sure to return to in the near future. Many thanks to Mark and his lovely wife for having us.

There is nothing to not like about the Old Forge unless you’re looking for a city break.

Great location, easy parking and a short walk to where we needed to go. The fire helps keep the place warm and cosy and the bed is very comfortable. Great facilities

Exceptional

Extremely friendly welcome from the host. Lovely spacious property. Felt like a little mini home from home. Bed was so so comfy. Had a great night sleep. Mark provided provisions for breakfast which was most welcome. We didn't get a chance to drink the complementary pressecco but we will next time! Great property for a longer stay as it was so well fitted out.

An exceptional place to stay. The Old Forge is a charming property set in a beautiful and quiet location, just a short drive from Street and Somerton. What makes this place exceptional is the attention to detail with the facilities available and extensive welcome pack/ goodies provided. An immaculately clean and comfortable property. Mark is a very welcoming host.

Mark & Zoe were very friendly and welcomed us so warmly. The space was so beautiful, spacious, tidy and cool and unique. They also had some nice food in the fridge, bread and some delicious teas which were welcomed after a long day of driving. Incredible place!

Stunningly beautiful property, a must stay!!

From the moment we arrived it was stunning. From the friendly greet to the fresh fruit, bread, milk and Prosecco. The property brickwork was stunning along with the story of the old forge and the before photograph. The attention to detail is extremely good. Very clean and everything you could ever ask for. We had an amazing stay and the super king size bed gave us the best 2 nights sleep. Thank you for an amazing stay
