The property was 12°C on arrival and took a long time to warm up. We spent the first evening sat in our coats!

Great Artist House Garden Apartment

This was a beautifully modernised ground floor apartment in a fabulous old house. It was warm and comfortable. Easy booking in procedure with great communication from the owner. A bonus was a welcome pack giving all the details we needed to make the stay hassle free.

Pleasant stay in well considered accommodation.

Second time at the Artist’s house. It is divided into four apartments, the ground floor being the maisonette which is a studio apartment with a basement kitchen and bathroom. As reviewed following our previous stay, the accommodation is clean, well equipped, well presented and well maintained. It is comfortable and excellent for a short stay visiting Scarborough. Within easy access to Scarborough centre and many local convenience stores, including a Tesco superstore, local pubs and take away. We would stay here again. The hosts, Laura and Martin, are helpful if required and do an excellent job in maintaining the accommodation to a high standard and providing visitors with helpful information as well as welcome pack.

The flat would benefit with an extra floor standing lamp in the main studio room as the main light is too bright and the bedside lamps are inadequate. For the less mobile visitor, note that the toilet is accessible by means of steep stairs one level below the bedroom so visits to the toilet during the night can be awkward. Parking nearby the property is time limited due to zoned. We parked 15 minutes walk away once unloaded. Not a problem for us but could be for other visitors. The alternative is a pay for car park near bye.

A comfy winter stay :-)

It's a great location in Scarborough. Easy access to the main link roads and nice for a walk to the beach / arcades too. The apartment was brilliant, my daughter loves drawing and the little desk in the corner with the lamp was just magical for her. Lovely and cosy, Beds were comfortable and everything else you could need is available.

Extremely clean and well presented. The Maisonette Room was perfectly presented. Heating was on and made the very large room very homely. The kitchen was well equipped. The toilet and shower were c,earn tidy and modern.

Parking was a slight issue but nothing too major. We managed to park mostly within the a couple of minutes of the Property.

The masionette property had a constant smell of dampness/mildew from the stairwell walls. Needed to keep the windows open. There was no shower soap or shampoo.

Perfect bolt hole for a few days away within easy access to the coast 😀

Great property- we had the garden flat which felt like a little house with bedroom and bathroom upstairs, kitchen and lounge downstairs and a little garden too. Fantastic location, parking was easy and was warm and cosy, very clean and stylish. Definitely recommend and we would love to stay again.

A clean, modern flat in a great location!

The flat was very clean and we loved the decor. It had everything that you needed and was very comfortable. It was in a great location, very close to the beach but on a quiet street. The welcome pack was lovely and great communication from the hosts.

Garden access would have been great as we have a dog. It wasn’t clear when booking that this flat didn’t have one.

Lovely apartment close to town and the sea.

The apartment was spacious and comfortable and it was easy to walk to the Spa for the jazz festival and to get into town or down to the beach. We have stayed here before and have already booked for next year. The owners are very helpful.

Artists 🎨 House stay.

Great clean property. We had 2 small dogs with us so garden was a great bonus. Modern property with great facilities and all you need for a good time away.

Really nothing. Stairs could be difficult if mobility is an issue. Parking is a lottery outside the property and that hill 😩 Parking in Scarborough is a bit of a pain. However if you contact Laura and Martin they can direct you to a area where there are no parking restrictions. It's only a 5 min walk back to the property.

The accommodation was spot on for us, well presented, very clean and tidy. Modern with nice touches. Instructions and comms great. Area was within walking minutes of the North Bay and Spa, stunning in the Mediterranean type sun Too!! All good would definitely stay again.

Quirky apartment easy access to main areas of Scarborough

The information guide was really useful. We got fish and chips from a local fish shop as recommended and they were delicious. Also ate at bike and boot that was great and also dog friendly The apartment was well decorated with really tasteful furniture and fittings. Kitchen was really well equipped

Second bedroom was a little too light… although the curtains were lined. Must have just been the sunny aspect

The artists house...Scarborough

On arrival the building was impressive and set in a leafy avenue there was no trouble parking. The key to the door and flat was kept on the wall to the left of the front door next to the garden gate. The flat I stayed in was on the ground floor all rooms where clean and modern yet still in character with the building ...a door led out to a court yard with a sitting area and bench,chair and table not sure wether this was communal it was well lit withe down light turned on by the plug switch on the wall The living room was well lit with a modern sofa a large TV double gazing throughout the building coffee table and chairs and table to eat at... all good. The galley kitchen had a double sink,fridge,and washing machine electric hob and oven with ample cooking utensils supplied. The bedroom has a double bed clean bedding and pillows it was small so storage for clothing was below under the staircase. Hairdryer ,clothes maiden and clean towels to modern small bathroom with a large powerful shower all good. Modern central heating controller easy to use all appliance usage was explained on a handy pamphlet supplied. The entrance hallway was big,bright and again clean and well presented.to. To the right on exiting the path way onto the street,up the avenue are shops for groceries a couple of fast food shops and a bakery, it you keep walking you will find the upper front with views of the beech and big Victorian gardens to explore. Turn left and walk down to valley road you can then walk down to the beech front so the location is quite ideal. Dogs friendly ..we asked the host if we could bring two and they kindly replied that we could just bring a blanket to cover the sofa and towels for muddy paws which is only fair...thanks for that and no added cost for pets...brilliant!!!

Could do with a sperate microwave maybe...as this is incorporated with the electric oven otherwise nothing really not to like all good thanks for having us😀

Gorgeous, wish I lived here

Lovely apartment with large outside area, fully enclosed and secure for our dogs. The apartment was absolutely perfect. Kitchen very modern and sleek, quirky stairs to bedroom. Back garden door when open closes over the stairs which was handy to stop our dogs from following us to the toilet 😂. TV is huge felt like we were at the cinema. Lovely welcome pack with biscuits, tea and coffee etc.

Only downside was for our older pup he found the floor a bit slippery. We usually take mats for him but forgot to pack them, which is our fault not the property.

Good trip to too racing at Oliver's Mount

I locked keys in the apartment, I call Laura the host and she talked me through how to get spare key to let us in. The area was ok but it was a good walk from the restaurants which is fine but on way home all up hill so we got taxi.
