Our stay at Casa Amelia in Taormina was absolutely wonderful, and a huge part of that was thanks to Hugo. He was far more than a host — he made us feel truly welcome from the first moment. Before our arrival, we were also in contact with lovely Carolina, who kindly picked us up from the bus stop, which made everything easy and stress-free from the start. Hugo wasn;t just a host, but a proper guide for us, he even spent alot of his time driving us around the area, sharing stories, local knowledge and hidden places we would never have discovered on our own. The house was perfectly located, sparkling clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. Hugo also recommended amazing places to eat, visit and experience, which made our trip even more special. But what made this experience really special was the human side of it. We truly feel we gained a friend in Hugo, someone we will remember fondly and definitely visit again. And maybe the most important thing we learned during this trip was the Sicilian spirit… including a Sicilian expression we will never forget: “futtitinni” 😄 Maybe not the best philosophy when you are working, but absolutely perfect for a holiday — when you stop worrying about plans, schedules and time, and simply enjoy feeling good and living the moment. For two senior ladies there were too many steps to manage with our luggage. Our hosts were very good to promptly answer questions and provide information by What’s App….also very understanding about a small lamp that I accidentally damaged

Could not use the stove. Workers fixing nearby buildings were sometimes noisy with machinery
