A good place to tour the south end of the Lake District. Good walking, although quite a bit of road
Location. Peacefulness. Kitchen and living areas very good.
We arrived on a chilly afternoon to a cold place. working out the heaters after a long drive wasn't easy. Please heat the place a bit for arrivals in future. The bed was not comfortable and the headboard was unattached and clunked on the wall.

Lovely Cottage in a beautiful location.
The information about the stay was sent well in advance with plenty of information and detail. The location is beautifully quiet. The wifi was excellent. The best bit for me was having access to walk the many paths and tracks around the Graythwaite Estate.

Flatters to deceive
The location, peacefulness, kitchen facilities, comfortable bed & pool.
No staff on-site...on-site shop not open for duration of our stay...swimming pool sessions not available early mornings....no hot water on our arrival....no logs available for log burner (even though firelighters & matches were made available, why??)...property was superficially clean but requires a deep clean (cobwebs & dead flies on windows)....WiFi setup is over-complicated (why not provide a password for easy access?)...dvd player but no DVDs...timed hot water is unacceptable & smacks of penny pinching (no hot water on arrival & had to wait for 40 minutes for boost facility to heat enough water sufficient for showering)....the shower & toilet areas in the swimming pool building were grubby & desperately in need of cleaning (mould, hairs & general detritus were in abundance).

Superb location and very welcoming. After a long drive great to find that cakes, tea and ground coffee and were provided upon arrival. Key collection worked well and instructions easy to understand. Well stocked shop on site. Facilities were very good with a well equipped kitchen complete with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery etc and a huge dishwasher. Great and reliable wifi. No mobile signal in the area but with wifi calling it wasn't an issue. Really liked the woodland setting with lots of deer, owls, pheasants and the occasional fox. Pool appeared larger than shown in photographs but didn't have chance to try. Property very clean.
The heating could have been a little warmer. With hindsight the purchase of logs for the log burner would have been sensible. During early February the living area was a bit cool despite being able to temporarily boost the temperature via the heating. Again, the LED lighting was a bit dim. If you're fortunate to be in the area on a sunny day this may not be an issue however a bit more lighting in the living area and bathroom would be an improvement.
