Town: Enjoying a peaceful position within the English county of Cumbria is Cleator Moor, a small town resting just a few miles away from Whitehaven and the coastline. The town plays host to a number of amenities, including a handful of pubs, shops and other small businesses, as well as a Mart Square, where there are three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist of international repute. Here, you will also find part of the West Cumbria Cycle Network, which form a portion of the C2C Cycle Route, from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Those with two-wheels can look forward to meandering along the route of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, which were once very active in the 1850s. The port town of Whitehaven is nearby and rests on the west coast of Cumbria, where you will find a larger selection of amenities, as well as a golf course, The Beacon Museum and the attraction of The Rum Story & Jefferson' Shop. During the summer months, be sure to spend time on the local beaches of Providence Bay Beach, Tanyard Bay Beach and Fleswick Bay or head to the Lake District National Park to uncover some great walking opportunities and other outdoor adventure. Cleator Moor is a delightful town for exploring further afield.
