This was a gorgeous place. We stayed in one of the cottage self catering apartments which had everything you needed. It was superbly appointed and very comfortable. Great for relaxing in after a long day on the fells.
We also treated ourselves to breakfast in the old coach house. The view from the dining room was stunning and the breakfast magnificent. Heather welcomed us like family and made us very welcome, giving us helpful information on the local walks.
We hope we can stay here again in the future and fully recommend staying here

We had a brilliant stay at Scale Hill Hotel in Loweswater. I booked one of the self catering options and brought my dog, Molly, and it was perfect for us. There were lots of thoughtful touches on arrival, including good quality tea, coffee and fresh milk, which made it feel welcoming straight away.
The setting is incredibly peaceful, with fantastic hiking right from the doorstep. We spent our days exploring the fells and it was the ideal base. The owner and family were lovely and made us feel really at home.
Even though I live in another part of the Lakes, it felt like a proper getaway. It was also better value than a nearby shepherd’s hut I had looked at. I would absolutely stay again.

The location is in the most beautiful, peaceful valley. No need to drive anywhere you can do a different walk every day straight from the property. The accommodation is exceptional, very cosy and had a very well equipped kitchen, the beds are super comfy and if you enjoy a long soak in the bath after a days walk, it’s the best bath!! The breakfast, if you choose to have it, is also delicious!

Such a lovely quiet location. Everything we needed to recharge the batteries. Facilities where brilliant the bed was super comfy and the scenery and walking is breathtaking. We will definitely be visiting again.
