Great location with amazing views and everything we needed for a great weekend away.

We had great stay at the ranch, the location was great with an amazing view and for accessing scarfel pike and surrounding area, host was very helpful when we needed him. Accommodation had everything we needed making for a great weekend away.

Perfect peaceful get away

What a great little find for our hiking holiday. We rode up on our motorbike and stayed in the Windsor Cottage. We had an issue with the motorbike that David the owner helped us with. The cottage was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Tea, coffee, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning sponges, body wash was all supplied so didn't need to worry about purchasing this. A beautiful view to wake up to and sheep outside our door. Being on a ranch was also great as I am a horse lover. Would highly recommend this place if looking for a peaceful get away.

Beautiful location quiet and property was equipped with everything you would need for a few nights stay, it’s in a rural setting and we were lucky that the weather was warm and sunny and after a full day exploring it was nice to sit out on the picnic benches having a refreshing drink! The roads up to the property and surrounding areas are quite tight so caution is needed.

Bare minimum crockery and cutlery. Bathroom could do with a makeover looking at the joints in the wall panels and ceiling which are quite mouldy, the oven was dirty and the microwave slightly rusty! Couldn’t work out the dishwasher!? could do with some antibacterial cleaning wipes or kitchen cleaning spray in the under sink cupboard as currently nothing to wipe clean surfaces! The village of wasdale where the pub is was quite far away so a car would be needed and nothing by the way of amenities in walking distance so a car is essential.

Great getaway in the quietest part of the lake district

The location is really isolated up a narrow drive and a long way from civilization. The room is spacious, comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities and very high quality and interesting decor. Good views. Wifi worked well. Great TV (we used Netflix which worked well with just occasional glitches). Very clean and well appointed in every way.

The information given us was mostly telling us what not to do (no shoes, no vaping etc.) which I know is necessary, but it would be better balanced by more info on local trails, pub opening hours etc which I find in most places to stay.

Lacking kitchen utensils, no iron or ironing board, Couldn't watch anything on TV due to poor internet connection, party underneath us was up till late at night, £200 a night I think is too much for this property

Outstanding property and the views were amazing. The host couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful, I would definitely recommend and I will be going back. A beautiful place with beautiful horses and other animals. My family loved our stay here.

Lovely cottage in idyllic setting.

The cottage was comfortable, spacious, clean and well presented in a fresh, modern style with quirky elements. The kitchen was well equipped with a good range including all the essentials. The setting and views were stunning - and the Alpaca who came to visit was a nice surprise.

I would tone down the ‘rules’. There are arguably less aggressive ways to encourage respectful behaviour than to threaten £200 fines every other sentence!

The setting was out of this world. The garden was amazing and so peaceful. The views were breathtaking. The apartment was delightful and immaculate. The llama s said good morning every day it was possibly the best place we have ever stayed.

Stunning definitely return

The property was set in the hills so beautiful views-it’s an ideal spot to discover both the seaside and the mountains- we climbed Scafell Wasdale head starts really close to the cottage, there’s a fabulous lake walking distance where you can canoe. Today we visited Seascale where there’s a lovely beach.

I know the cottage is rural but the WI-FI wasn’t the best and it is advertised- we were disappointed last night when we were watching a film on Netflix half way through the internet connection went on the TV we tried rebooting etc but no good. Possibly a few games cards etc.

Magical place with beautiful views and horses and foals just outside our window. Huge comfy beds.

The location was stunning with the most beautiful views and surroundings. I loved the garden and all the statues and wooden carvings around which added to the magic of the place. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see horses and foals just outside our window. The beds were really big and comfortable. Also not far from Scafell Pike. I would love to return here sometime.

Total joy and rest.

The property and location was perfect for us. It is peaceful and beautiful. Although it is as bit isolated (which was a great bonus for us) , it gives you a chance to travel and see the Lake District at its best - not too overcrowded and yet close to amazing attractions. All the instructions to and around the property were clear, and if we had any queries they were answered promptly. I wish we stayed there longer. Highly recommend!

The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Very nice personal touches and gave you a feeling that the host cared about your stay.

Didn't dislike anything but I would say we didn't see or speak to a single person which is fine but slightly unexpected. Also the half a mile from the main road to the farm is very steep and probably worth mentioning as we wouldn't have made it up if the weather would have been icy cold or snowing. Again neither are a complaint as it was a lovely stay and would stay again.

This is definitely NOT pet friendly, to the point we were asked to leave a night early due to a pure misunderstanding that host is now refusing to help us with. Very disappointing as shouldn’t advertise as pet friendly if it’s not Also Wi-Fi is intermittent and the TV doesn’t work at all.

Spectacular views

The location is simply amazing with spectacular views and fantastic area worth visiting, multiple footpaths and a scenic lake. A perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries. The accommodation itself provides you with everything you need for a short as well as a long stay. The host is hospitable and passionate about his farm willing to share the story of his interesting life with the guests. Everything worked perfectly. Good value for money. I will certainly come back again.
