The definition of R&R!

A truly stunning location! Even with other guests in the other properties on site it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, which is exactly what we’d hoped for. The apartment itself had everything we needed too.

Great views and pleasant living space.

Open plan, roomy. Nice dining table and living room space. Big comfortable beds Quiet and peaceful location, with great views. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Simple bathroom with a great shower (no hand rail though) This place would be suitable for 1-4 people.

The location was amazing, with great views, walks, and surroundings. The room itself was clean, well-appointed, and cozy. Correspondence with the owners was prompt, professional, and polite. There are a lot of rules, as others have pointed out, but that is why the property is so well kept. If anything is amiss, do let the owners know, as we found that solutions can be found immediately.

Nothing worth reporting or that wasn’t solved. A great stay especially with two young children.

Nice but needs some TLC

The location was beautiful

Damp in bathroom. Leaking light fitting throughout the night, puddle in kitchen in the morning. Broken curtain rail... for which we got blamed in the subsequent review. Can not make this up. 1 frying pan.... took ages to make my full English Still got charged for dog 1 rather than 2 (this was to be paid in cash at the property on check out) even though we had to deal with leaks because we booked the place when it was priced down... excellent deal? Not. This place is not pet friendly. Pet cautious would be more fitting The host was cold and couldn't care less.

Gorgeous ranch in the heart of the lakes

Gorgeous bunk house style accommodation, had everything you need. Plenty of space to relax and the views were spectacular. Will hopefully come back next year, stunning location and the host were really helpful too. Has everything you need to unwind and enjoy the National park.

Too many rule notices this is unnecessary, people staying here are responsible adults! Pots and pans in poor condition fit only for the bin, this was surprising given the lecture on looking after them in the booking details! Booking details dictatorial, a lesson in customer service communication would benefit the owners.

Lovely late summer getaway

Loved our getaway . It is a beautiful place with outstanding views . Cosy cottage with everything you need clean spacious beautifully designed and great Internet my son has autism and is a runner ( my fault for not checking location before booking a last summer getaway ) so nearly had an heart attack when I realised how high up we were but after taking him out for long walks and exploring wastwater before returning back to the cottage everyday he was tired enough just to relax with his favourite programs both times .

Amazing location!

The location is amazing! I’ve been coming to Wasdale for over 30 years and didn’t know it was there, but wow what a location!! The view when sat at the table was simply breathtaking, it made meal times really special.

Great location and view. A few minor changes would make a good property a superb one.

The view was breath taking. The shower was amazing and limitless hot water. The comfy beds. WIFI great. Nice touch to have a guest garden. Location is fabulous! Lots of information provided by hosts and every question answered in their book. Provided washing up liquid and soap which is a nice touch. USB ports with some of the power sockets which was super helpful!

Toilet brush was very dirty- needs changing or use a black toilet brush. Very small supplies of toilet roll - had to buy more and short supply of coffee and sugar. Toilet seat was broken and the kitchen tap drips which is hard to sleep and a waste of water. Had to put rubbish outside and the bins were open to elements which meant the rubbish blew everywhere. Also the instructions for the bins was very detailed but a bit overwhelming, potentially using images instead would make it more user friendly. Reading lights would be a lovely touch as when sharing one whole space it helps to not disturb people.

The location was absolutely magic - stunning environment and views! The bed was very comfy.

I wanted to let the owners know directly that the kitchen sink dripped, the kitchen tongs were broken and the shower drain did not drain well and was rather dirty.

Amazing location and spectacular views. Could have been a very peaceful and relaxing stay if it wasn't for the noisy boiler and plumbing!

Unfortunately our stay was very much marred by the noisy plumbing. The boiler that was located in the cottage was very, very noisy and kept re-filling and making noises all night ( every 15 minutes? 30 minutes?) We found it very difficult to get to sleep and remain asleep. In addition the water pipes appeared to run directly behind the bed and there were sounds of constant running water. This was so disappointing as we picked the proper over a pub hoping for a quieter night's sleep. We wanted a good nights sleep on both nights as our main point of visiting was to climb Scafell Pike and we hoped to be well rested! We stayed in Scafell cottage and the adjoining cottage resident said they had similar noises in their property of running water.I understand that the properties are very old but the plumbing issue really needs addressing in some way,

Terrific location, idyllic setting, and comfortable accommodation.

The location and views are spectacular. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable.

Only minor inconveniences, for example, the dishwasher didn't clean the dishes, so we had to wash by hand and floors were a bit dirty and sticky.

Perfect couple of days away in the lakes

The views were lovely even with the fog, as well as the room, extremely comfortable and well decorated.

There was a view dirty dishes but since there was only 2 of us it wasn’t a problem.

Wonderful location, very remote, stunning view through the window. beds were comfortable with all necessary appliances included. Lovely interior and decorations all over the property and if you lucky you get to meet some farm animals, so that's a nice touch.

It can get a bit cold in the morning and evening, the heating is not on point, it turns on later than stated on the booklet. the shower cabin drainage can be tricky, it get slightly flooded after some time.

Luxurious hideaway

Incredible setting for the last 2 nights of our honeymoon. Luxury and comfort. A very special place. Owner was really helpful when I forgot key code.

Would need somewhere to dry outdoor gear if staying longer, dryer or clothes airer. Would be better for just two people so that the view could be maximized from sofa (get rid of the two single beds)
