Conybeare Cottage

The location was excellent, not too far from the centre; a bit of a walk downhill into the town so the return was uphill but not a problem if you’re not struggling with mobility issues, but if you’re mobility is not the best driving into town would probably suit.

The only issue with the property was the rug on the wooden floor; this would slip whilst being walk on and caused my grandchild to fall over, would recommend that the rug is removed or taped to the floor to prevent a more serious accident.

It was a clean and tidy property on the inside. The kitchen was well equipped . Downstairs toilet was a bonus. Not far to drive to the beach about 6 minutes. The welcome pack was a very nice gesture.

The patio area was filthy. There was no grass and we had no access to the outdoor seating or bbq as it was locked away in the shed. `( We found out via the visitors book what the code was by someone else’s comment). Unfortunately we never looked at the visitors book until the day we were leaving. It all needed a good jet wash. Although the house was clean and tidy the furniture was all very uncomfortable and most of it looked like it had come from various charity shops. Apart from the double mattress which was comfy . Can’t say the same about the bed frame . My shins are black and blue because you keep hitting them on the corner of the bed to get to the wardrobe. It’s a very narrow space. Bathroom was very nice apart from the lack of hand rail to help you get out of the bath/shower. Although I am a very agile, it was very difficult to get out of the bath because it was quite a deep bath to step out of . In fact the lack of a handle was extremely dangerous. An anti slip mat would also have been helpful. Also the upstairs windows only opened an inch or so . We phoned the agents to ask about this as it was too hot in the house. They were able to tell us how to extend the opening. Although it was very tricky to do. Very dangerous not being able to open any upstairs windows fully. The downstairs ones were fine ????. Also you need to leave the WI -FI code available. Had to phone up again to get that. We expected to find a hand towel left in the downstairs toilet and kitchen as it said towels were provided. We had to use the tea towels we took as hand towels. It would have been nice to find a fan stored somewhere rather than a Christmas tree. Fortunately there was no one living next door during our stay , as there would not have been room for 2 cars unless they were very small and behind each other. Which I suppose had been ok as long as the person who had blocked the other one in hadn’t gone out without their car.

The house is very clean and accessible to town centre.

Great location, everything you need and lovely welcome pack too

We liked everything! If I was being picky fitted bed sheets would be better as the sheet kept coming loose in the double bedroom.
