We made a late booking at Hotel Cuntera after driving through Klausen Pass, without having precise plans, and as it happens in life, sometimes you improvise and you have nice surprises. Sabine and her husband are simply wonderful - from their care about the late dinner (messaging in advance), since we were arriving late at Hotel Cuntera, to the great mood of the location, beautiful surrounding landscapes, cleanliness, facilities and perfect breakfast. We surely recommend this accommodation and the lovely owners.

One of our best Swiss experiences ever!

We travel a lot, and our stay here surprised us and became one of our all-time best Swiss hotel experiences. We traveled to the area to enjoy the Swiss mountains and snow. After a quick check-in, the hotel owner carried our luggage to our room and had he pre-heated our room. This was a nice touch since we had just come from a 4-hour snowshoe walk. There was a dish of homemade chocolates on the table. We had an incredible 3-course salmon dinner at a surprisingly low price. In Switzerland, I would expect to pay 50+ CHF per person but it was only 30. CHF. The 3 course meal was a highlight. The view from the dining area is spectacular too. We plan to visit this hotel again because, as I said, it was one of our best experiences ever.

Highly recommend! Absolutely stunning views.

The most beautiful location! Mountains all around. The meal prepared for us was delicious. The hosts are so gracious and kind. We had a group of 6 with 4 rooms. We were all put in rooms beside each other and got to share a huge balcony where we sat in the evening together.

Best family hotel in the Switzerland. Outstanding food and lovely hosts.

I have stayed in over 20 family hotels in Europe and this is by far the best one. 1) Gorgeous view from every room. 2) Delicious dinner and outstanding breakfast. Fresh ingredients, healthy options, and the restaurant had an amazing view of the mountains. They even made raclette as per our request (with local ingredients) to make sure we had the proper Swiss experience. 3) Quiet and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Clean bathroom with exceptional water pressure. 4) Perfect internet; no issues at all. 5) Lovely hosts who helped us navigate a 5-day trip in Switzerland and showed us the best places to visit. I will definitely come back and highly recommend Hotel Cuntera to anybody.

The most Wonderful vacation ❤️

Everything was amazing! The location is the best, the most beautiful we have ever seen and the hotel is just perfect! Nothing fancy but very comfortable,clean (it looks exactely like in the photos) so it’s all you need for a relaxed and silent vacantion! (We think the hotel should have 4 stars!) Such a great view over the pick of the mountains from the room balcony! The food was great (breakfast and dinner) and 5 stars serving! The view from the restaurant is so beautiful (panorama view). You can walk around, hike and take fresh air! It’s something I can’t explain in words how beautiful it is… It will remain forever the first choice for our next vacation in Switzerland. The owners are so kind and nice. Thank you Sabine. 🤗💐 You are the Best!

location was excellent

that not even a light was left on for me arriving at 9.30 pm, hardly late on a Saturday night in the tourist season, and i had informed them of my arrival time. I drove past the hotel and reached a dead end before realising I had arrived, the only clue was a key left in the dark hallway with my name on a piece of paper next to it. not a good first impression, I had to hunt over three floors to find my room. The host in the morning was not friendly in the slightest.

Very good

Outstandingly beautiful location. Owner and staff friendly, accommodating and helpful. We felt like we were arriving home. Rooms were sparkling clean and comfortable. Food was plentiful and nourishing.

The property was fabulous. As an American couple, it’s difficult to get used to the Swiss habit of separate comforters when you want to snuggle. We’d like the option of a double comforter. Swiss food in general is rather bland and plain. This is no criticism of this location in particular! We loved it here!

Exactly what we were looking for

Comfortable room, good food, extremely welcoming staff. Everything we were looking for! It was the second time I stayed at the Hotel Cuntera, and I would definitely go back.

It's worth noting for the walkers that the hotel is 20 minutes from the bus stop. Not a problem when you're aware of it beforehand, as we did, but nice to know.

A hidden gem of a hotel and restaurant in the Swiss Alps

This is a hidden gem. A family run hotel and restaurant, half-way up a slope nestled among 6-8 other chalets, surrounded by grass fields neatly cut. A fabulously beautiful and tranquil location. We were 5 persons and had 2 rooms, each had a balcony, and in the morning when the sun rose above the eastern ridge, the sun warmed the balconies. We could have stayed there forever. The rooms were plain but very clean with all basic necessities. The bathroom, with a shower, was small but again had everything you needed. The hotel is a little hard to find, and is accessed by a one lane road; but the journey is well worth it. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant for those seeking a beautiful location and who would enjoy the tranquility of an authentic family run mountain hotel and restaurant. They speak English (and German and Romansh, of course).

Todo fue hermoso, desde la pareja que se encarga del hotel, la vista a los Alpes, el cuarto súper como y limpio, las amenidades alrededor del hotel, el desayuno y la comida delicioso, además del calefactor y el agua sale tibia o caliente para las manos o bañarse. Definitivamente vamos a regresar pronto 😍

El estacionamiento está un poco distante del hotel pero se puede caminar y es muy poco, y la regadera tiene una pequeña fuga.

Un hôtel de montagne avec beaucoup de confort, qui vaut le détour

La situation géographique, en pleine montagne. Le dîner (tres bon, tres copieux, beaucoup de legumes) avec la vue de la salle du restaurant, le petit hameau juste au dessus de l'hôtel avec un incroyable pont suspendu et la couette, bien chaude pour dormir.

Un tout petit peu de chauffage. Au moins pour chasser l'humidité et permettre aux vêtements de sécher, aurait été le petit truc en plus..

Tolle Lage mit großartiger Sicht, sehr leckeres Essen bei der Halbpension und Eingehen auf Wünsche ( vegetarisch). Am ersten Abend gab es die dortige Spezialität (Capuns) die ausgesprochen gut zubereitet war! Frühstück war vielfältig und reichhaltig. Wir bekamen sehr gute Tipps zum wandern. Alles sehr familiär und freundlich!

La posizione, che ti consente di godere di una vista molto suggestiva sia dalla camera che dalla sala da pranzo.

Per come è arredata al suo interno, per i servizi che offre, per la qualità della cena che è servita rigorosamente alle 19:30 e senza possibilità dj scelta (per non parlare della colazione che la valuto alquanto insufficiente) la struttura è estremamente cara. Un consiglio al gestore: non si serve a tavola una bottiglia di vino già aperta.

Ruhiger geht es nicht mehr! Die Lage am Ende einer Passstraße unschlagbar! Der Chef persönlich hat sich um ein individuelles Abendessen gekümmert - topp!

Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen- Teppichboden eigentlich nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Siebzigerjahre Style. Und für mich absolut überteuert.

Gemütliches kleines Hotel mit sehr nettem Chef und schöner Aussicht.

Wir waren an diesem Sonntagabend die einzigen Gäste, bekamen aber trotzdem ein feines Znacht mit Dessert und einen super Zmorgen. Das Zimmer war nicht sehr gross, aber genügte auf jeden Fall für eine Nacht. Wir hatten unseren Schäferhund dabei, was auch überhaubt kein Problem war. Die Lage war für uns ideal. Etwas abseits gelegen (Hund), schöne Aussicht (vor allem mit den riesigen Fenstern im Speisesaal), ganz nah eine kleine Hängebrücke.
