    Minn Nijo-jo is a charming boutique hotel in Kyoto with spacious, well-designed rooms and a large, comfortable bathroom. Located near a vibrant local shopping street with everything you could need—supermarket included—it's perfectly positioned for exploring the area. As part of their commitment to sustainability, they've forgone traditional room service, but this eco-friendly approach is part of what makes the hotel special. If you're a traveler who appreciates green practices and don't need full-service hotel amenities, this is an excellent choice.

    I would say the hotel was overall decent. The location was convenient, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. However, there were a few downsides, the hotel does not have a traditional staffed reception, room cleaning comes at an additional charge, and the breakfast options were quite limited, with the same selection offered each day. We also had to pay accommodation taxes separately upon arrival even though we had completed our payments before arrival. We experienced some issues with the door locks as well, as they could occasionally be difficult to operate and at times would not open from the inside unless the code was entered from the outside.
