A great stay in Glendalough!

Exceptional host (very friendly) and a really cozy, comfortable room. The location was ideal for setting out on foot/by car to Glendalough and the surrounding area. The breakfast was also very, very good.

Amazing, would love to come back!

I loved my stay in Dudor Lodge, the staff were super helpful and welcoming. The location is wonderful, right by the start of the greenway. The room was very small but cosy and very clean

I am a bit sensitive to washing upliquids and softeners, and I found the softeners that were maybe used to wash the sheets and towels too strong for me. I would recommend using a more natural scent.

Perfect for hikers

Charming B&B near Glendalough. Green trail starts just a few meters from the accommodation so very easy. Nice and clean rooms with a very good breakfast (16 euros pp).

Tudor Lodge Stay

Great location. Close to walking trails, visitor center and food. Great breakfast and atmosphere as well. Christopher was great and shared many wonderful places to explore.

Humble, comfortable B & B in a great location for exploring Glendalough

Excellent location for exploring Glendalough. We liked that the lodge was walking distance to the few lunch and dinner places in the town of Laragh. The breakfast at the lodge was good, and our server was kind enough to modify the veggie breakfast for me, which I appreciated. Although we are a couple needing only one bed, we opted for the triple room because we wanted extra space for a 3-night stay at the end of a 4-week trip. We're glad we did because we needed to use the single bed as our luggage rack. There was really no other place for luggage, especially important when you are living out of a suitcase. For a party of 3, the triple would have been tight quarters with no storage space. (We overheard a family of 3 comment on this at breakfast one morning.) The triple had a nice sitting area next to a large window. We each need 2 pillows, but there were only 2 (not 4) on the double bed. Thankfully, there were 2 pillows on the twin bed that we could use. Other reviews noted that the rooms are a bit spartan, which wasn't a problem for us as we felt it fit the surrounding area; however, I do like having some elbow room and a place for luggage.

You are on your own after 6 pm, so this is something to consider if you need staff after hours. It would have been nice to have had additional info in the room (i.e., in a binder) re: hiking trails and restaurants. It was confusing how to access the common area (what Christopher calls the Conservatory). There was no tea kettle in our room (only in the Conservatory), which I mentioned to Christopher shortly after arrival; he quickly offered to bring one to our room, which was very helpful. Limited options for hanging towels, and they only gave us one hand towel. We would stay here again, but you have to be proactive about your needs. Don't assume many of the amenities you might expect will be available without asking.

Lovely comfortable place in Laraugh/Glendalough area!

Beautifully maintained outdoor area. Very cozy room, and the breakfast was so great! Very charming place! Easy walk to restaurants/pubs and up the road from there is a stunningly beautiful trail that connects to Glendalough trails. One of our favorite hikes of our trip.

Everything was great EXCEPT what matters the most which is the bed and the bedding.

The location was fantastic. Great staff. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Nice room.

The mattress was lumpy and sagging. Super uncomfortable. The sheets had a horrible strong smell which means they used smelly detergent. Between the smell, the horrible mattress and a terrible pillow we couldn’t get a restful sleep.

A good overnight spot in close proximity to Glendalough.

Excellent location and proximity to Glendalough. Lovely garden and terrace to the river. The continental and hot breakfast had a good selection.

We had a problem with the bathroom, it smelt of toilet and blocked pipes. We spent the evening running the taps to flush the smell out. In the family room the double beds were quite small despite having lots of space in the room. The room including breakfast was quite pricey in the end.

Wished for Better Shower, but Breakfast Couldn't Be Better

Convenient location to Glendalough monastery grounds. Excellent breakfast with very friendly and attentive waitress. Good traditional pub up the street.

No way to control heating in room; no hot water kettle. Bathroom shower very, very slow to drain, so ended up showering while standing in 4" of water. Mold growing around shower perimeter, sink, and in shower grout lines.

It was delightful

Tudor Lodge is quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is great and elegant. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. We will stay there again if we come back to the area.

Comfortable rooms in great location near Glendalough

We had two family rooms (quad and triple), both were spacious and clearly recently refurbished with bathrooms that looked brand new. Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. Access to property was very easy with good parking on site and self access for returning in the evening after a meal. Location is great - short walk to Laragh village and close to Glendalough.

We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. I am sure it’s very good. I would generally prefer to have breakfast included rather than have to add breakfast separately at the property but that wasn’t an option when we booked on booking.com. Couple of things that would make a difference for guests - there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and this really would have been appreciated, especially for my elderly parents who would have loved to make a hot drink on arrival after a long car journey. Also no hand towel was provided, only bath towels, so provision of a hand towel would be good.

Amazing host, so friendly and helpful! My room was very clean and cosy, with a very comfortable bed. There is a lovely forested path from the hotel to the starting point of most hikes in the area, the host will let you know how to find it :) Would stay here again without hesitation!

Pleasant stay in Glendalough

Our room was on the river side and did not hear any traffic noises. The bed was only 140cm wide but comfortable. For dinner we chose to drive a short distance because there was no sidewalk for pedestrians for a section of the road.

Great location to Glendalough!

Location was fantastic. We could walk to start of Glendalough trails straight from the B&B. 5mins walking to Lynham’s pub and Restaurant with live music. Wicklow Heather Restaurant and mini supermarket within same distance. Vegan breakfast rolls in McCoys. We were a group of three friends sharing a triple room. Owner offered a pull out bed if we preferred to each have separate bed. We took him up on the offer and we were delighted to have own bed after a hike and a few drinks! Owner was really welcoming and engaging. Loved it all. Already planning to return.

Nice stay

Staff was friendly, bed was okay, shower was really good, it was clean if you are a person that can ignore spiderwebs, walking distance from restaurants. WiFi provided didn’t work with the provided logins, but this was no problem for us. Breakfast was okay, but we prefer breakfast before 8.30h.

Very Comfortable beds, and the living/bed area was clean and tidy. Location within Wicklow Mountains was excellent and close by to two really good restaurants.

Bathroom was not up to cleaning standards with mold around the shower, which although this area gets moisture and No extraction fan it could have easily been cleaned. The worse thing was the state of the towels, first day we had one white one perfectly fine with an additional one my wife used which putting it politely was tired worn out and a light brown colour which she didn’t want to use after getting out of the shower because it looked dirty. This was followed up on our last day with one that I can only describe was stained with a poo colour. Breakfast after paying for the week I was left so disappointed after day two I decided to just eat elsewhere. We were not served what was on your picture, and being served two quarters of one small mushroom and two half’s of two different types of black pudding it felt and tasted like cheap ingredients although the cold choice was good quality. After paying 14 euros each per day, for breakfast I feel the property let itself down. Dear property go and check out what is on offer in the surrounding area and you will understand where I am coming from. This property does have so much to offer and the hosts are welcoming when you arrive, but on our occasion we feel they are letting themselves down because I really believe they can offer much better.

This was a property we had stayed at before. It had a very good room, with a good bed and bathroom. It is located in the country with beautiful areas nearby. The nearby village of Glendalough had some excellent restaurants to choose from for dinner.
