Wonderful Wicklow Way

A beautiful setting in Wicklow, easy access to the mountains and villages. One of the best meals was in Roundwood at The Coach House, highly recommended dining there. Hostess was pleasant and greeted us and gave suggestions for what to do in the area.

This is a good, reasonably priced place to stay, if you wish to be in a rural area.

It is a charming place in a rural area. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, made to order. Very quiet surroundings. Beautiful views.

The bathrooom needs updating and a shelf to put toiletries. Needed to drive on one-lane roads to get to a restaurant.

We had wonderful stay!!!

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at this B&B! From the very beginning, the communication with both the owners and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was phenomenal—delicious, fresh, and they even catered to special requests. Our room with a balcony was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and had an amazing view. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the balcony terrace was spacious and perfect for relaxing. Room service came by every day to check in and ensure everything was perfect. The bathroom was also very clean, with a generously sized shower, and the room included all the usual amenities such as hairdryer, a kettle with tea and coffee and armchairs. The location is wonderfully peaceful, yet Dublin and beaches are accessible. Wicklow Town is also close by, and many attractions are just a 10–20 minute drive away. A couple of good pubs and Restaurants only 5-10 minutes away. This area is perfect for hiking enthusiasts as well. There was also a lovely common area and an honesty bar, which we didn’t use, but it added to the overall charm. Everything about this B&B is thoughtfully designed with high-quality furnishings and a very well-maintained, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it was a perfect stay, and we couldn’t recommend it more!

The only minor downside was that it was summer and the room got quite warm for us, so we kept the terrace door slightly open at night. Of course, this might be a consideration for guests with security concerns. In our opinion, there’s no real need to worry in this area. We could have opened the window instead, but then there’s always the possibility of someone—or even animals—coming in. We found that keeping the terrace door slightly ajar was the perfect way to ventilate in the evening. That said, if someone had been right outside the terrace door, it would have been easy for them to get in. Apart from that, we had absolutely no complaints—everything was very well thought out, and we would be more than happy to return.

Beautiful environment, hospitable staff!

The staff was exceptional, they were so hospitable and took great care of us. They helped us arrange a taxi ride to get around the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower had great pressure and the water got nice and hot! The views are spectacular, breakfast was great. The coffee was delicious.

It was hard to find, a bit hidden/secluded. But we found it only after one failed turn.

Comfortable accomodation near the forest with the best breakfast

The room and batchroom were clean and well equipped. The breakfast (porridge and Irish breakfast) was delicious, it was even possible to choose from different meals. The hotel is at a remove location, close to the forest. Lot of birds were singing around the house. The staff served all of our requests.

Nice out of the way location

Great location, out of the way, but less than 10 minutes to several restaurants. Also easy to get to most sightseeing spots.

The only downside was water drainage issues in our room. The shower and sink were both very slow to drain. Otherwise, everything was great

Amazing three days of our visit to Ireland. Grand and great.

Stunning country location, the room was comfortable and cosy. The shower was clean and spacious with fresh towels every day. The dining room and breakfast were amazing: the design of the dining room, freshness and nutritious value of food, outstanding service. Breakfast was the pleasant highlight of our day.

Since we didn't drive, it was challenging to get around. The administration is gracious to help with finding the transportation.

The breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice, from a cooked breakfast to cereals. The porridge was delicious, made with cream. Everything was cooked to perfection. The views from the house and bedrooms are breathtaking. With plenty of outside seating to enjoy looking over the mountains and valleys, while enjoying your favourite beverage. Friendly and very accommodating staff.

This may not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Lots of steps to navigate.

Disappointing and expensive stay in Wicklow Mountains

The breakfast is good.

The rooms are tired and need a refresh. The bed is soft and the pillows flat which is a problem for anyone with back/neck issues. The host was very unfriendly and irritated at registration, as if hosting is a burden. He “forgot” my husband’s egg allergy and served an egg on his breakfast plate. Overall, we felt unwelcome.

11 Star accommodation with Irelands best breakfast

11 Stars!! This is one of the best Guesthouses we have ever stayed in. From the incredible mountain views, to the highest standard of accommodation and then of course the friendliest most accommodating staff. Staying here with my 3 kids was an absolute pleasure. Then the most important, the breakfast. This is the one that sets the bar, it is the single best breakfast we have had anywhere, including the 5 star hotels. We were spoiled with their delicious Full Irish, stunning selection of mixed fruit, muffins and of course their award winning porridge. Thank you for the fantastic weekend and we will certainly be back again.

Wonderful stay after a long hike

We received a warm welcome on arrival after a long day of hiking the Wicklow Way. We couldn't feel more rejuvenated than by the comfortable bed, warm shower, and delicious, rich breakfast tailored to our wishes. It was all that we hoped for.

Location was beautiful but we were not aware how remote it would be and we prefer being in walking distance to a town.

A haven of peace and quiet on the Wicklow Way

Wicklow Way Lodge is a gem situated right on the Wicklow Way - a haven of peace and quiet in a beautiful landscape. The house is thoughtfully designed and our well-appointed, spotless and comfortable lower floor room had a spacious balcony with a breathtaking view of lush forest and hillsides. Marilyn and Seamus are charming, friendly and hospitable hosts and they and their staff could not have been more kind or solicitous. A highlight is the high-ceilinged breakfast room bathed in light - and a delicious breakfast to match! There are numerous hiking trails right out the door, and the pubs and restaurants of Roundwood or Laragh are just minutes away by car. We would come back in a heartbeat!
