It's nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. Reception staff was helpful

Small rooms, no gym/sauna/pool. Things you'd expect for the price and the 5 stars. The breakfast is really really basic, they only offered goat cheese which my girlfriend can't digest. When I asked for other options they were annoyed to have to deal with it.

The Hotel is in a great location, a boutique hotel I would say.The decor is beautiful, comfortable bed , luxurious bedding even down to the Dyson hair dryer.All the staff were very helpful at all times.

A beautiful setting stunning interior and the outside space is fabulous.

The rooms while comfortable left a lot to be desired in terms of practicality such as a mirror with adequate lighting to do your hair and make up and the fact that there is no hanging space for anything longer than separates means that travelling with dresses or even a midi dress means there’s nowhere to hang it apart from of the architrave around the door . I was quite surprised as usually in hotels like this small details have been taken into consideration. The other disappointment was that both the sky bar and the residence bar in the hotel were both closed at 12 midnight. So we weren’t able to enjoy a drink at the hotel on our return from our evening and had to go outside to one of the open bar/restaurants further along the street. Again this seemed odd as we were in Spain and everywhere else was open at that time.

Not a lot of place to store the clothes

The location of the hotel is fabulous. Perfect for wandering the beautiful streets of the old town and a plethora of restaurants nearby.

Sadly there were private functions in both spaces on the Friday night which meant the sky bar was short staffed and a complete mess. We waited 45 mins got no drink so left. When we complained to reception his reaction was a shoulder shrug and an attitude of "well we are short staffed i will tell the manager" We left and went to an alternative outside the hotel. The room was clean and nicely finished but very small with no storage so was pretty cramped. I would also recommend asking for a room not at the front as it's quite noisy into the small hours.

Absolutely loved the service. The hotel is unique and beautiful. We loved the ambiance and the vibes of being right in town.

Nicely done hotel, well run, well furnished, great location, rooms and bathrooms a bit small, and a bit over- priced in my humble opinion. Very good restaurant on first floor.

Food was excellent

Hotel is in a great position within an easy stroll of Orange Square in Marbella old town. Even in January there were plenty of foodie options close by to choose from. In Summer it would also be an easy stroll down to the Marbella beaches.

Parking not easy

Almost at the top of the Old Town of Marbella, in a pretty little square called Santo Cristo, is the lovely La Fonda. It's the sympathetic conversion of a pair of heritage buildings, one of which was a 16th century church - the transformed cloister is the first thing you see as you enter. It's only been open since April last year and, in that time, has successfully built that critical element of hospitality, a great team. From Sanaz and her front desk crew, to the delightful bar and kitchen staff, to the efficient and willing housekeeping, everyone is welcoming, friendly and keen to make your stay a success in every way. Example - our stay covered my birthday. When we arrived at breakfast, we could hear a lot of urgent beating coming from the kitchen. Shortly after, a freshly confected small cake appeared at the breakfast table; while later in the day, we found a bottle of Cava on ice in our room. Rooms, though not large, are well thought out and equipped: our bed was soporifically comfortable and fresh milk is available on request for tea and coffee. We were visiting in January but still admired the rooftop terrace, where there is a bar in warmer weather, as also in the ground floor courtyard. The in-house restaurant, Jane, was on annual leave - judging by the breakfast and lunchtime dishes, it would be well worth trying. But finding good places to eat is hardly a challenge here - the 2* Michelin Skina is 3 minutes' walk away and there is a wealth of other charmers.

We managed, but a couple of drawers for folded clothes would have been useful. And this is not a criticism but, due to its history, the hotel floor levels change everywhere - I can't see it working for wheelchairs.

The staff were brilliant, breakfast great. Beautifully restored hotel in a great location.

The bedroom was small. Lacked sufficient space for us to unpack cases. Literally nowhere to hang 5 long dresses, no drawers either. It wsnt relaxing having everything out on show.

The hotel is in a beautifully restored building. The public areas (especially the courtyard) and the bedroom are really well appointed. Housekeeping was also of a high standard. The reception/concierge staff were extremely helpful (thanks Manuel).

Although the staff at breakfast were also welcoming, the service was a little disorganised (e.g. used plates and cutlery not cleared from the table).

The staff so kind and attentive, making you really feel welcomed. The wonderful decor, the beautiful mix of ancient and modern, the interior, the situation being in the center of the hotel. Really all very beautiful and making you want to return.

I missed drawers in the room. And although we absolutely loved having our room facing the buzzly street of Marbella centre, we found the room a bit too small, especially between door, bathroom and area of coffee machine.
