Pearl's Homestay Matale

Exceptional breakfast, abundant, home cooked, fresh squeezed , generous to a fault. Flavour, variety, quantity, quality, all beyond expectation. Wonderful. Honestly wonderful! Warm and friendly hosts, who offered to do our laundry, and brought in our dry clothes that we'd hand washed! Quite possibly the very best location in Matale, with a lush mountain behind the house, a beautifully tended garden, and a wide deck from which to view the full splendor of the Knuckles Range. The town is about a kilometre away, an easy walk going down, more challenging coming back up, but an excellent way to stay fit and mitigate against all the glorious food that Matale ( and our hosts! ) offer.

Our room did not have a bedside lamp. We bought one to use, and leave behind, in gratitude for our host's generosity. The only improvement that I can think of, would for both sides of the huge bed, to be supplied with bedside tables and reading lamps.

Location, friendly host, substantial breakfast, Reliable AC and Hot water, fridge etc. Cosy layout and just the right furniture for online work or rest. Superb views.

Nice terrace, big fridge, host is welcoming, breakfast was okay and as discussed before.

It was unbelievable dirty all over the place. I don't know how many guests did stay there after the last cleaning. Mold in the bathroom, stains on the floor, spider webs all over the place, empty tube of toothpaste, very uncomfortable bed (thin mattress) Wifi only worked standing right at the door. Landlord Lady claimed it is working.
