1 bedroom modern duplex

We provided our own breakfast. Location was good in a pleasant street, accessible to shops, restaurants and public transport to city centre.

On two separate occasions, we were unable to lock the door. First time - it took 2 hours to resolve. I was advised to replace batteries. There were no batteries. Keybox with spare key couldn't be opened by any of the codes provided. An important meeting - one of several for which we had flown to Southampton - was missed. Second time - owner locked door remotely. No iron, although listed in facilities. Owner undertook to provide one but it did not materialise. Having paid booking.com in full, we were asked by the owner to complete a Truvi verification process for which there was a non-refundable, additional service charge. Is this standard practice? It's the first time we have encountered such a request.

It was ideal for what I needed

The stairs were steep and I had luggage, but that wasn’t the properties fault.

Spacious and nice to have an option of the sofa bed as well as the double bed. Good location for the St Mary’s stadium and food venues.

Because of how close it was to some night clubs it did get randomly noisy all through the night with people walking home . May have been worse as we stayed over a very hot weekend so had to have the windows open.

Poor shower,no blinds or curtains on the windows ,rugs and sofa could have been cleaner
