Very cosy, comfy and great location. The owner was very attentive and accommodated well.

Location was great, close to the common and the city centre area.
Host was accommodative.
Apartment was beautiful with good nature light and well equipped with quality appliances.
There is plenty of parking when we stayed but you need to make sure it's paid for/renewed during chargeable hours. But then this is not unusual for a central location within a city.

We have already called the owner and billing.com to explain why we didn’t stay in this apartment and I am still waiting for a refund

I didn’t receive the email from booking.com to access the keys but property owner was more than helpful and allowed us to arrive a little earlier. Very accommodating
Would have preferred a door or drape at bedroom door as my son likes to sleep with complete darkness but that’s a matter of choice.

• Decent location - 5-minute walk to Watts Park and 10-minute walk to Papillon.
• Free parking.
• Mostly comfortable bed.
• Mostly renovated space.
• Clean bathroom.
• Expensive AND non-refundable.
• Truvi verification system - pushy, extra £5, and has copies of my IDs.
• Shower (electric) is terrible, according to my partner - "it's either hot or cold and there's like 5 drops of water at a time".
• No curtains in the bedroom, so it's ultra bright at 7 AM.
• Wi-Fi didn't work - could connect but no Internet access.
• Entrance mat and bedroom shelves (at least) clearly hadn't been cleaned recently.
• Check-in instructions weren't sent or available automatically. Fortunately, a neighbour let us into the shared space, and the door was left unlocked.
• Kitchen bin but no bin bags.

Great location but some serious issues - read this before booking!
The good bits:
Great location – right in the city centre, easy walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, parks, and museums. Parking was easy too.
Big warnings:
1. Take photos when you check in! The owner tried to charge us for a missing TV remote control that was never there during our stay. I explained that: (1) we never saw the remote from the moment we checked in, and (2) we had to use the TV's physical buttons to turn it on/off (proving we never had the remote). Despite this, they still blamed us. So save yourself the hassle – document everything!
2.Not ideal for families! We felt unfairly accused when the owner suggested my child might have damaged or taken the TV remote without any evidence.
3. The ID check isn’t what Booking says. You’ll need to upload both an ID and a selfie (not mentioned on the listing). Also, the "£5 deposit" they advertise is actually a non-refundable "processing fee" – you won’t get it back.
4. Sofa bed was dirty. When we tried to use it, we found food crumbs and some balloons inside, so we couldn't use it as intended.
5. No hairdryer provided despite being listed on booking.com. Bring your own to be safe.
6. No refunds after booking, so be 100% sure before you pay.

Really well-equipped and furnished. Great location, excellent communication.
The sofa bed wasn’t the most comfy but the rest of the apartment was perfect!

Entrance was easy access, however this meant that the owner and anyone else with the code can also access. I had trouble turning on the heating, which I had inquired about since 10am that day via WhatsApp, as I have a disability and heating is essential for my health. I checked in at 11:45pm The flat windows had been left opened all day, annd 8 degrees Celsius the flat was freezing, I needed to turn the heating on and it wasn’t working. He claimed it was a simple button to turn it on, annd they never had issues. He demanded I turn on the heater upstairs, the one not in the bedroom! I had to move the entire bed to try annd find the switch to turn on the bedroom heater, and there wasn’t one and what I found was absolutely rancid. owner called me mad, was extremely rude and communicated like a 2 year old. He then threatened to kick me out at midnight and offer me a refund. With no where to go and a meetingat 8am, I politely told him I would not bother him and try to rest as I have work in the morning. He then turns up at the flat unannounced, calls me, barges in and trespasses without my consent , standing by the front door he goes “what the hell youre here!” As he thought I wasn’t in, hence why he let himself in confidently without my consent. I never consented to him entering the first gate, and now that he was standing at the front door I felt fearful for my safety and pressured to allow him in to fix the heating. Upon trying to sort it he explained he didn’t know how it worked, he didn’t know what programs to set it on to make it work, and thus the heating did not last on all night. My bag was also stolen from an Uber driver and he did try to help me with that , but that doesn’t deny the absolute terror and trauma I experienced with his trespassing and aggressive rude communication style, threats and unwelcoming tone. I will be reporting you Louie. Your behavior is unacceptable and I really Hope you take the time to reflect on your behavior.
WARNING THIS OWNER IS DANGEROUS! I wrote my genuine review and he’s made up that I left human “excitement” in the shower that I did not use and broke a TV that I did not use. I was in the property for 8 hours, curled up on the couch with a hot bottle. All I used was kitchen sink and stove. There’s something sinister about this man.
Review:
Flat was absolutely disgusting, full of dust everywhere, fridge stank of stale old food, dishwasher was so moldy I had a coughing fit upon opening, heating worked for 20 minutes then switches itself off, I had to sleep upstairs on the sofa bed with every single item of clothing I owned including my jacket and thank god I bought a hot bottle with me or I would have fallen ill and had to call 111. I messaged Louie at 10am on day of arrival to inquire about heating and late check out, he ignored me and was unresponsive for hours , when I tried to call he texted back immediately. Claimed heating was easy, yet I had to move the entire bed to try to find a non existent switch to turn it on, and found the most disgusting layers of dust and dirt and old hair brush and illegal nitrous oxide capsules then in person he admitted he had no idea how to set the programs to ensure it stayed on all night, he trespassed onto the property without proper consent, threatened to kick me out for my simple inquiries and I honestly have never felt more unsafe in my life. The noise in the street is absolutely savage, people breaking glass, screaming, wild drunken behavior until 5/6am. Not ideal whatsoever. Everything about the place was absolutely rancid. The wardrobe was full of cleaning machines and products instead of space for my things to store.

Last minute booking for work, the smart lock made it super easy to check in as I was arriving late into the evening and rather then having to search for a lock box and try and input a code in the dark I was given got a code to enter on a key pad and I was straight in! VERY IMPRESSED more hosts should use these. Property was exactly as described and great value for money. Lovely stay just wish it was for longer, will definitely stay again if available.

The location is superb, centrally based in Southampton. Easy to get to and easy to get into property.
Every single item of bedding was dirty, there was blood stains on a pillow, human bodily fluids on other stuff, smelled as if it hadn’t been washed for weeks and used by many others. Property although in a good location was very loud and all you can hear is screaming in the streets. Sofa bed was not comfy. Towels smelt, and wasn’t enough towels per person.

the host should upgrade some of the furniture and resupply the room with basic cleaning products ( paper towels, sponge, etc)

There was very little to like about this property; I would not recommend it.
Location, general cleanliness - mould in the shower, shower did not drain well. Belligerent owner.
The apartment may have been modern when first renovated, it is now tired. The pictures are misleading; there is no garden.

The apartment was clean, well-stocked, and well-located. I walked from the apt about 800m to Southampton Central train station with a heavy bag. Ubers came quick. The apartment's clothes washer/drier (combo in one unit) worked well. The landlord provided excellent videos on how to find keys and unlock doors.
Landlord in practice requires Whatsapp to communicate, and cannot make or receive calls or texts from non-UK phone numbers. I cannot install Whatsapp due to employer restrictions on my phone so it was basically impossible to communicate (Booking.com messages were also problematic). If you do not use Whatsapp you may wish to consider other places instead.

Area in Southampton, very central
What wasn't very clean but owner had contacted us to ask us to wait before we checked in as the person who had left the night before had left it in a state .
