Price-value not a match

The staff was nice. They arranged private transport at a good price.

For what you get the price is way too much. Very simple rooms, which are fine if the price is set accordingly. Incl. Breakfast was very inconsistent in how much fruit/what we got. We ordered takeaway breakfast for a specific time one day to leave early for a tour and they were not ready. Room cleaning was just sweeping and folding linen. We had to ask for fresh towels several times and got different numbers of towels each time. Had to ask for bathroom cleaning specifically after 5 days as it started getting smelly and dirty. The sink, toilet, mirrors had not been wiped once.

Poor Value for Money

- Friendly Staff - Quiet and car parking - Close Beach and restaurants / cafes nearby

- Very dissatisfied and poor value for money (even for high season in December it is overpriced for what you get) - Not sure where all the excellent ratings coming from but the rooms are rather basic and dissapointing for the price. - Pre Payment via Wise and not via booking makes it difficult to refund - Aircon was really dirty and not cleaned for ages - When we arrived the Aircon did not work at all and had to be fixed - The sink drain had to be fixed 3 times during our stay as the water was not draining - Water in shower did only drain very slowly - Rooms cleaning not done every day. Only the trash bins were emptied. - Had to ask for new bed linen and towels - Safety box is not working - Door is not closing properly and Geckos sneak in the room - Breakfast is rather limited and small portions

Perfect location

- Location was perfect -5 mins walk to the Long Beach. - The host and staff were helpful and friendly. - The bathroom was spacious (which is not a given by Thai standards). - The bed was very comfortable.

- Unfortunately, I have found the accommodation poor value for money as some facilities were lacking in the room. - The cleanliness could be improved as well (that’s a quick fix).

Not the best few days !

George and his team were really friendly & helpful, and always tried to resolve the issues we experienced. Good location within easy walking distance to several restaurants & close to the beach. Breakfast was great too.

Brown water in the sink & toilet when we arrived (which only cleared up 24 hours later) was unacceptable, the room needed a better clean in some areas, and our initial set of bed linen & towels were a ‘mucky white’ colour as though they had been washed in the brown water ! Walking through a muddy scooter parking lot to get to the accommodation also didn’t give the greatest impression.

Very nice rooms, excellent value for money

Wonderful and friendly staff, very nice rooms both with en suite bathroom each. Breakfast was ok , didn’t have a full range of what was on the menu. Laundry service was wonderful.

Could be amazing witn abit maintenance

The price and the size of the unit. We had the 2 bedrooms appartment which was lovely. Location was good. Stuff is very kind and welcoming.

They didn't clean our room our whole stay (4 days), It gets messy with kids pretty fast. The water pressure is super low, and the toilet didn't washed properly.

Comfortable bungalow in Koh Lanta

We loved our stay at Blue Gecko, it was one of our favourite places we stayed in Thailand! George the owner, and all the staff especially Ton, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time in Koh Lanta after our day tour was cancelled due to bad weather. We can’t thank them enough! The rooms were spacious, well decorated, comfortable and 2 minutes from the beach. Onward travel and day trips can also be arranged by the team. If you’re visiting in off season I’d recommend using the resort to book a taxi from the pier. Someone was waiting for us once we disembarked the ferry and it was only 100 baht, which was a few hundred cheaper than others on the ferry paid for their transfer.

Amazing!

Everything! The location, the staff, the bedroom, the vibes, the breakfast. I visited during rainy season and it was so cosy and only 2 minutes from the beach. Big up Tuen (I believe that is his name) - dude in reception. He was so lovely - same with the cleaning lady always smiling. It was so good I booked an extra night

Amazing stay that felt like a retreat.

We loved our stay with Blue gecko, the bungalow and bedding were excellent and we had the best sleep we’ve had after months of travel. Staff were fantastic and super helpful especially Thon who helped us massively with transport and activities and had a lovely way about him very welcoming. Also breakfast and coffee in the mornings were amazing and we looked forward to them every morning.

So nice! We loved this stay, staff were the sweetest, room was lovely, location was great everything 10/10! The breakfast that was included was great & such a simple add on but there was filtered water you can have all day long which a lot of hotels don’t have. The bathroom was great ahah! Also, the afternoon guy on the front desk bit was so helpful unfortunately I don’t know his name:( but he gave us so many recommendations & even called the company of our speedboat to give us a full run down of our transport the following day! Absolutely recommend this to families, couples, solos ANYONE! also go to Irie Bar at the top of the road!

Exceptional!

Stayed 2 nights and extended for 7 more nights! highly recommend they clean the room everyday with fresh towels and the BED ARE SO COMFORTABLE. 1 minute walk from beach and also allow you to rent bikes without deposit! Breakfast is great

Everything was absolutely fantastic. The room was clean, comfortable, private, fully air-conditioned. Good value ++ Gteqt breakfast. Fantastic massage therapist called Nid, who has her business just down the road. Her business is called Mamma Massage and she is phenomenal. Would highly recommend if you like a firm Thai Massage.

Absolutely spectacular

Everything was just exceptional. The location is quiet and conveniently located within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the facilities are well maintained. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. They really treat everyone like family. The breakfast was delicious and hearty. The owner is there every day interacting with guests and offering local recommendations and friendly conversation. Our expectations were exceeded in every way! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We stayed here last minute after time was up down the road and man do I wish we had been able to stay longer. Loved the relaxed vibe wonderful staff and breakfast. 2 min walk to the beach. I had to leave a day early but they were wonderful and put my girls up in the villa for their last night. See you next year.

Nice bungalows 3rd row to the beach

Nice bungalows, pretty laid back, the owner is a really nice Hungarian guy that had great recommendations for where to eat which was lovely, bungalows were rather simple but clean and they had a safe as well as really useful plugs next to the bed and a fridge which was great, there was a minimart just around the corner and on the beach a few nice bars so strategically a really good location I’d say

The location is not on the beach but a bit down the road but it’s really really close so no issue for us. My only negative really was that the tours they offered were expensive compared to other places you could book them in the area :/ And sometimes it was a bit hard to communicate with the staff as I don’t speak Thai + !! You have to pay your whole stay in cash if you cannot do an international bank transfer

Very nice staff, nice location.

Burst water pipe in the night in our bathroom waking us and we had yo get dressed to go and find help. The hotel boss did. Ot see this as any problem as we got it fixed after 30 minutes plus. This hotel is not cheap and the incident ruined our sleep and our night. Next day the power was out. There is a mosque nearby and they are calling out at kl05.00 in the morning so be prepared to be woken every morning. The room standard at best is 2 star with a 4 star price.

Great stay, very chilled and we’d happily stay again!

Excellent location to the beach and a really relaxed atmosphere. The owner George is a nice fella and is happy to chat to the guests which makes the place very welcoming!

we don’t have much bad to say at all about our stay, we stayed 1 week and loved it. If we had any negatives it would be the small tiny black worms found in our shower everytime we used it but they seemed harmless and our room was very clean aside from this minor problem.

Close to the beach

The location was perfect and staff were brilliant. Was very clean and set in lovely grounds not far from the beach and close to lots of lovely restaurants.

Unfortunately the bed was way to firm for me and my partner which resulted in 4 nights of very poor sleep. Bit to close to the main road which could get quite noisy at times and expect a 5:20am wake up from the nearby mosque prayer A side note and absolutely no reflection on the accommodation but, being an island with a high Muslim population we had to be a bit cautious where we ate as not all the restaurants were clear weather it was halal meat.
