Everything exceeded our expectations! The room was beautiful and spaceous, with amazing views of Manzanilla beach with both sunrises and sunsets. Room felt really luxurious and the bed was very comfortable.
Staff was so welcoming and nice, and Lupita made the best breakfasts.
Pool was really nice and the hotel itself was really quiet and we had plenty of time to just relax - make sure you look at the horizon, we saw a HUGE humpback whale breach just outside the beach!!! It was so crazy to experience, besides the beautiful sunsets.
The Manzanilla beach was only ~10 minutes walk, where we bought snorkles and saw some cool fish just outside.
The hotel had 2 lovely cats and a dog, which we really enjoyed hanging around!
You're able to find restauarants ~10-20 mins away, or you can take a taxi (or walk around 30 mins) to Playa Zicatela for more options.
The only complaint we have is that the room got really hot and there is only 1 ceiling fan. There is moquito nets for windows, so be aware that they are technically "open" all the time (in the sense that there is just a net and some blinds you can shut), so it got really hot in the evening/night. There was also a dog that was barking for HOURS outside one night, so you can't really shut out any noise. Besides the dog, we really enjoyed listening to the waves hitting the beach, birds and other nice sounds!

The pool area was incredible. The breakfast was delicious (gracias Lupita). Rooms were private, clean and had beautiful views. Short walk to the beach. Very quiet and relaxing spot to stay.

We had an amazing time. The hosts were delightful and very helpful for planning our day. The location is very central, lots of options within walking distance. Enjoyed the pool; amazing view and chill vibe. Breakfasts were so good, Lupita is a gem and makes the best mole.

The room was very big and the view was amazing. The beds are gigantic and comfortable as well.
The breakfast is prepared every morning and of good quality.
Secluded space and overall very relaxing and quiet.
We stayed for 3 nights and the rooms were never cleaned (which is a bit unfortunate because of the sand on your shoes you will inevitably bring with you).
The toilet paper bin was never emptied (this is not hygienic).
Breakfast was never ready before 9h15.

Everything, especially Lupita, the woman who keeps the house intact and makes the breakfast. Beach was within foot distance and a bunch of restaurants, cafes and shops within 30min radius.

The view was spectacular! Simple but very tasty breakfast. Spacious room with a balcony. Good value for money.
The rules were strict (not using communal areas after 10, leave the property at 11 sharp on your departure day, no late breakfast option for those who goes on morning whales watching tour). Which is kind of understandable as this is a property shared with the other guests and the owner . Still i think they can be communicated differently and be more flexible.

Nada
- We were assigned a shared « room » with no privacy and a shared roof with the public areas, I.e. the balcony and the pool area. Other guests in those areas could hear everything in our room, and we could hear everything in the public areas. Needless to say, we got zero sleep with all the coming and going. We were woken up at 3AM by an employee of the hotel frying chicken one night! Zero response by the property manager to ensure that other guests and their own employees respect the house rules and quiet hours.
- The hotel is a completely isolated and is a 20 minutes walk to the closest restaurant. To arrive at the public areas, you will have to walk on pitch black and abandoned streets guarded by packs of dogs. My girlfriend was attacked by an aggressive dog on our way back from dinner on our last night!
- Overall amenities are lacking and falsely advertised on booking.com

Fabulous setting, great staff, wonderful vibe about it. Owner is lovely.
There is nothing not to like.
If I were to build a property to host guests this would be just how I would do it.
40 years in hospitality and this keeps my faith high.

Words can’t explain how amazing our stay at Casa Cascada was. The photos are beautiful, but the place is even better in person. The view is incredible, the rooms are spacious and full of light, and the pool and kitchen area are immaculate and thoughtfully designed. It’s the perfect spot to relax so peaceful and tranquil. Hands down best accommodation my partner and I have ever stayed at.
Christine, the owner, was incredibly friendly, and her dog Lucy and two cats made the place feel like home, even though it’s very high end. We’re genuinely sad to be leaving and will definitely be back.
There’s nothing negative to say. I was a bit worried about the lack of AC based on other reviews, but we stayed during 30-degree heat during the day and the building design plus the fans kept us perfectly comfortable.
Not a negative, but worth noting: you may want an eye mask and earplugs. The charm of the rooms is that there are no windows, so you hear the sea and often surrounding animals, which means you get lots of natural light and noise which is lovely, but they help with sleep!

The breakfast was delicious. Each day we had different meals, all freshly prepared by the fabulous Lupita. There was fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola; fresh coffee; and a hot main course.
The view from the room and the pool was magnificent. Being in the open plan lounge was a pleasure, even when it was raining.
The sound of the birds singing in the morning and the sight of them perching on our balcony was beautiful.
The lack of glass windows on the balcony in the room meant that sometimes the sound of the wind and the waves was a bit loud.

This place is an architectural gem. Unprepossessing from the street, but opening out into the most beautiful multi-level minimalist/brutalist home from home with an actual waterfall. All flowed concrete, welded steel and handcrafted natural furniture and fittings. The most incredible sunsets from carefully positioned hammocks and deckchairs around the pool. A state of the art fresh water system means even the shower water is drinkable. This is not the place for anyone who wants air-con and silence at night, but due to carefully designed natural cooling there is always a breeze and the sound of waves to lull you into blissful sleep. I will dream of staying here for the rest of my life.

From the first moment, I felt at home. The house is surrounded by lush nature, with stunning views of the ocean and a calm energy that makes it easy to forget the rest of the world.
Christine, the owner, is warm, genuine, and full of great energy. You can feel her touch in every corner of the property, from the thoughtful design to the relaxed atmosphere. Lupita was also amazing — always kind, smiling, and incredibly helpful. She arranged my taxi and provided contacts to book the tours.
Breakfasts were delicious — fresh fruit, good coffee, and local food served with care and attention. The house itself is beautiful and super comfortable: spacious rooms, big shower with great pressure, cozy seating areas perfect for reading or relaxing, and even drinkable tap water (a rare luxury in Mexico!).
Every detail is designed for comfort and peace. Watching the sunset by the pool, hearing the sound of the waterfall, or just sitting on the terrace feels like a little piece of paradise.
I left completely recharged and grateful for the experience. Thank you, Christine and Lupita, for making it so special. Can’t wait to come back

Our stay here was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a dream — the spectacular view over the ocean, the beautiful design of the house, and the thoughtful attention to every detail created an atmosphere of total relaxation.
The beds are incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and the combination of natural wood furniture and a charming palm roof gives the place a warm, authentic feel. Even the resident cats, Ocho and Milo, add to the cosy, welcoming ambience.
The highlight is without doubt the infinity pool — its perfect temperature and breathtaking view of the ocean make swimming there an unforgettable experience.
What truly made our stay outstanding was Lupita, the host. She is wonderfully friendly, easy to talk to, and full of great local recommendations. On top of that, she’s an excellent cook — her Mexican dishes are absolutely delicious and thoughtfully prepared so that even those not used to spicy food can enjoy them.
In short, this place is a true gem — a perfect balance of beauty, comfort, and hospitality. We would return!

The view over the bay and the sea. Absolutely stunning.
The offer itself: it’s a private house with 7 rooms that, when not used by the property, is offered to clients. Staff only available 8am-4pm, cats running around (no one told there would be cats in the property), if no own transportation you need to call a taxi or walk 20 min to the beach or a restaurant. No complimentary tea or coffee is provided. If you want a beer, you need to bring it yourself. Breakfast (only Mexican) is made available around 09.30-09.45, not earlier. Rooms are spartan, not even a chair or stool to put your bag.

Breakfast was really good, Lupita was an excellent hostess, the ocean view is great. The place is rustic/modern and clean. The dinning table is great!
We arrived at night time, there was no answer at the phone numbers listed by the entrance. The room was really hot. We received a fan the next morning.

Amazing view of the beach! The property and rooms were nice and clean. The landscaping was beautiful
No air conditioning. But over all it didn’t affect my stay.

Everything! Rooms are lovely, pool is to die for, views are outstanding, and the crew taking care of Casa Cascada and its visitors are top notch—especially Lupita!
I would have loved some AC-but understand that it’s a huge investment and not common in Puerto Escadido.

The place is beautiful, I love the atmosphere, the staff is super kind, feels like home. The pool is great, and the location is close to the beach of manzalino or angelito Beach. Overall, we loved the place, the view from the rooms and from the entire space is amazing, the bed was very comfortable.
There's no air conditioner, only a ceiling fan. If you don't ask, there is no daily room cleaning. Breakfasts were sometimes very mexican, which we were not used to..

Great place to relax for a few days. Includes a pretty nice breakfast - fresh fruits, granola, yogurt and hot, local meal prepared by a lovely lady. One thing that could be improved is coffee. Room is small, but convenient and I highly recommend choosing ocean view room with a balcony. It is absolutely worth it. Common area is spacious, very modern with a stunning view.

Lupe, who prepared the daily breakfast, could not do enough to ensure that we enjoyed an exceptional stay. The location is incredible and the views are the best in Puerto Escondido.
The property could provide insect repellent; however, the mosquito netting in the rooms worked perfectly.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! The architecture is incredible and pool is stunning. Lupe, the housekeeper was also delightful and a very good cook. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly

Beautiful pool and common area, staff is super friendly, breakfast „home-cooked“ and different every day. Filtered water available. Great atmosphere. Rooms are simple but bright and airy (screen doors only).
Despite not being too far from restaurants, parts of the way are really really dark with large dogs roaming around. They didn’t do anything but walking to and from the Casa wasn‘t super comfortable.
