Lyon Premium - Nid de l'Opéra

Due to unfortunate timing, we were in Lyon in the middle of a cannicule (heat wave), which meant that we spent more time in the flat than we had originally intended, as we sheltered from the harsh midday/afternoon heat, so we really appreciated the portable air-con unit which made things very comfortable. (We did get out to see Lyon, in the mornings and evenings though.) We loved the size and layout of the place, the fact that there was a freezer (again - heatwave), in fact every kitchen appliance you might expect was present. Also the host responded to questions by email very promptly.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

The location was good, easy to walk to the majority of places.

The property is on the top floor, directly under the old timber roof, so it gets extremely hot during summer. The advertisement stated that the property had air conditioning, but unfortunately, it does not. There is only a fan unit in the corner of the living area, which stops working during very hot weather because it develops frost on the back. There is no air conditioning in the bedroom either. With temperatures above 40°C outside for 3 days, the bedroom remained above 30°C, resulting in 3 completely sleepless nights for us in Lyon. The toilet is also worth mentioning. Both my husband and I are small people, but the toilet cabin is extremely tiny. If you are taller than 180 cm or weigh more than 80kg, you may struggle to fit comfortably.
