Casa Neuenheim

Neuenheim was a great location in general but this location was exceptional for us. The location was within 3 minutes of Bar Centrale (a great cafe with some of the most attentive staff I’ve ever encountered with a neighboring pastry shop which had the best croissants right and across the street from a Wed/Sat morning farmers market), minute from a park, which was great fun for kids, a 15 minute walk to Altstadt, across the street from Lidl, and 12-15 minutes to Wasserspielplatz. And rolling shutters for all windows was a bonus.

For some reason, about a week or so into the stay, the stair light (motion detected?) started coming on in the middle of the night, would turn off after a minute, then turn back on, etc. which woke us up. Unsure whether due to vibrations, someone walking by (heard nothing), or something else. Maybe a glitch? What would be nice is some information about how to manage the lights to ensure they don’t turn on unexpectedly even with motion.

Great location - next to the river, central and great for families with kids. The view from the balcony. It was quite spacious.

Unfortunately, it was not clean. No toiletries at all.

Sehr zentrale Lage, aber dank 4. Stockwerk relativ ruhig, nur die Straßenbahn ist etwas zu hören. Weitgehend gute Ausstattung und geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Genügend Platz für zwei Personen. Unkomplizierter und schneller Kontakt zu Vermieter.

Leider ließ die Sauberkeit zu wünschen übrig. Im Bad schmuddelige Teppiche, in der Dusche Seifenablagerungen und die Haare der Vormieter haben den Abfluss verstopft. In der Küche fettiges Besteck und im Vorratsregal eine offene Kräuterbutter und halb ausgetrunkene Flaschen. In der Wohnzimmerecke Staub und Müll der Vormieter. Im Schlafbereich auch Staub und Krümel, auch zwischen Matraze und Bettgestell. Macht insgesamt leider den Eindruck, dass es nicht gut gepflegt wird; auch über der Toilette ist ein Kabel mit viel Klebeband nur notdürftig befestigt.

Great to be so central in Neuenheim, easy walk to nearby restaurants and bars and the tram is just outside the door. A nice walk along the Neckar brings you to the old city.

The check in just never happened. I arrived within the time range that I had communicated but the host was not there. The apartment was still being cleaned. Without the host present there was confusion about my payment and about the access to the building. The apartment was nice but a couple small issues: a little dirty (cobwebs), there were no dish towels, and there was a motion activated light that I could not turn off. These are all small issues but together they were disappointing. Finally the tram outside is very loud so may not be ideal for light sleepers.
