Great base to explore Athens

Location was great. Many cafes and restaurants near by. Plus the metro is 3 minute walk away. Each bedroom had Aircon. The host Maria is very nice. It had all the essentials needed for a stay.

The loveseat in the TV room isn't the most comfortable

Fabulous Stay at Mairas House.

Very good apartment. Spacious, clean and had all the facilities needed and more. The host Maria was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Location was very near the Metro and Hop on Hop Off bus stop, so very easy to get around and see the sights of Athens. Also some good bars and restaurants nearby heading towards Karaiskaki Square which is the best way to walk.

Perfect location and size for a large family. Great value.

Very clean. Less than 5 minutes walk to the red subway line, then either 3 stops to the museums near Syntagma Square or 4 stops to the acropolis. There is a small shop in the same building selling basics like bread and milk, and countless restaurants in walking distance. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable.

Walking up two flights of stairs with our luggage—no elevator.

Wow! It was a very cute place with everything you need. It was very clean, we also really enjoyed the balcony. The location was nice, it is close to trains and metro but also walking distance from the centre. There were some restaurants close by. there is air conditioning and the beds were also very comfortable. The host was extremely nice and gave us recommendations for things to do. She also offered to let us leave our bags there after we checked out for the day.

Alternative area of Athens yet easily communicated with the center of the city. It's only 3 stops away from Syntagma or a 15 - 20 minute walk to the main archeological sites. Very clean.

Very clean and well equipped apartment. The host was really friendly and helpful. Well situated: Metro is just around the corner. Nice quarter around (not touristic!); a bakery/bar/cafeteria for breakfast and coffee is downstairs at the ground floor, a good taverna just across the street, several bars and restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended for a stay of several days to explore Athens!

Maira is very friendly and gave a lot of advice about nice places to visit in Athens. The stay was very comfortable. We especially liked the big balcony! Another pro was the Mini supermarket right next to the airbnb and the overall central location:)

The location is very convenient and the apartment was spotless and comfortable.

We arrived early morning tired and grumpy from our long trip. Maria, the hostess, immediately changed all that with her smile and enthusiastic welcome. She offered us sweets and made us feel at home. She gave us all the information we needed to easily get around Athens. She told us that if we had any problems she would be available even though it was Orthodox Easter!

Location was excellent because it was close to everything and we love to walk, also there are some great restaurants in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately the street noise and noise in the building was a bit too much, but it didn't help that we came during Easter time.

The location of the apartment is excellent, all sights easily accessible by metro. The flat is really nice with spacious rooms and comfy beds. The host was very-very nice, she welcomed us upon our arrival, she even prepared a little welcome snack, many thanks!

The only negative thing is that the apartment is very noisy. You can literally hear every single noise from the street.

Grocery shop in the house and several others nearby, as well as places to eat or have a coffee. Chilled water and icecream in a fridge, which was a nice welcome in hot weather. Enough hangers, among others.

Toilet paper rules, as in many places in Greece. Really unpleasant. A few other things could be improved but nothing too important. The surrounding belongs to the worse ones in Athens but not in general (some places and houses around are fine).

One great place to stay, until incident with the host

The appartment itself is newly renovated (especially bathroom), and comfortable with two air condition units, and lcd tv. Location is also great, near to metro and bus stations, but not so safe during night since there are lots of nearby alleys that you can drift into which are filled with junkies and homeless people. Point of advice, stick to the same return route when travelling back home after sunset when visiting downtown, or return from daily trips. There is a bar and shop/caffe in the same street, so it is good if you need some relaxation near apartment.

Our host accused us of damaging the appartment which had the damage before we arrived. When she spotted the damage while changing the sheets, she called us in a frenzy and demanded we return from the trip we left to. This caused us great distress, and 3 hours of our planned trip outside Athens. In the end of our jurney she appologoized for her actions, but we already lost our trip, and bitter feeling remained.
