Exemplary - a comfortable and happy stay.

It is a beautiful family-run property. The design of the spaces, the choice of furniture, the quiet are all exemplary. It is very secure with high walls and gate. It is a very short walk from the city, restaurants and cathedral but away from the noise! The breakfasts are delicious.

Troyes is a splendid medieval town to visit MaisonM did not provide good value or service

Troyes is in the Aube department of the Champagne-Ardenne region, on the Seine River is a town in the Grand Est region of northeastern France. Its medieval old town features narrow, cobbled streets lined with colorful, half-timbered houses, mostly dating from the 16th century. The town is home to several Gothic churches with striking stained-glass windows. These include the Troyes Cathedral, the Église Sainte-Madeleine and the Basilique Saint-Urbain. Maison M - A19th century Guesthouse situated on the Quai Fontaine adjacent to the heart of the Old Town.

Upon arrival after a long hot journey Michelle nonchalantly greeted us both discourteously and disrespefully like we were an irritation. Room 1 at the rear of the property was spacious however disyfuntional, the dishevelled discoloured white couch so uncomfortable you could not sit on it at all. The Air Con system was antiquated noisy and defunct - Toiletries provision was meagre as were the refreshment tray for 3 days was inadequent thankfully as discerning travellers we provide our own. (Cafetierie and lavazza coffee and plentiful quality gels/oils/creams) Indeed as my wife is lactose intolerant we know to provide our own breakfast cereals and oat milk this was presented to Michelle courteously to provide as at breakfast time. In preparing for the evening discovered that the small poor quality overused/washed-out towels we grubby with dirty marks these were returned to Michelle which was met with umbridge and brusque curtness politely we request clean towel each day. The property certainly is in deep need of refurbishment/redecoration and the homespun staircases are both Health and Safety issues being unbalanced and displaced incorrectly for up and down movements. The entrance steps are disjointed and require a handrail.

We have visited Troyes many times - Maison M is the only one for us!

Always a superb breakfast with delicious croissants, homemade bread, cheeses, jams and yoghurt, all fresh local produce of the highest quality, served in a beautiful dining room with proper napkins and linens. A real treat.

We liked everything so these are just ideas for making a great place even better. Be good to be able to get in a bit earlier; bigger towels would be nice and having two of each type of tea in the room instead of one would have meant we could both have the tea we liked.

Absolutely stunning building with beautiful decor in a superb location just 5mins walk from central town. Host was lovely and her dinner recommendation was fantastic. Super quiet nights sleep and a lovely clean room and huge bathroom. Easy secure parking too.breakfast is lovely!

Would have been great to check in a little earlier, as 17.30 really is quite late in the day. Understandable for a family run hotel, but that would be only change I would have liked. We did try and call the number when we arrived at 16.30, but no answer.

The room was large and clean with a nice view and fantastic bathroom. There is off-the-street parking available for free and it centrally located. Everything is walkable. Breakfast was lovely. The staff is exceptional and so friendly. Will certainly come back

Lovely place and would stay again next time in Troyes

A beautiful house and gardens. Wonderfully friendly host. House and rooms have been decorated and furnished to a very high standard in classic French style. Safe secure parking with the house walls and locked gates. Our bathroom was sensational. Location is perfect for a 2 minute walk into the historic centre of Troyes and the cathedral. Lovely aspect overlooking water and fountains.

We had a great stay at Maison M and would thoroughly recommend it. Our room was large with a wonderful bathroom. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The owners Michelle & Bruno are extremely friendly and helpful. We would stay here again on our next visit to Troyes.

A nice family run hotel with good parking in an excellent location for the centre of town.

The hotel is well located to walk into the centre for an evening meal. The hotel kindly recommended a restaurant and made a booking for us when we arrived. The hotel has good on site parking which was easy to find with Satnav. The hotel was chosen as a stopover point on our way to Provence. We would use the hotel again.

Journey times are always difficult to predict and so it would have been useful to know that booking in early is not an option. The hotel doors do not open before 17.30hrs It wasn't a problem because we just walked into town and had a pleasant glass of wine having safely parked the car,but it would have saved me having to carry bags twice to reception and perhaps I could have had a second glass of wine that afternoon!
