Stoneymollan over Loch Lomond

Cabins were so cosy and well equipped. The hosts Brian and Gillian were 10/10 couldn’t do enough for you. Very welcoming and lovely people.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Stoneymollan and it will be one of the highlights of our Scottish road trip. The pod was beautifully designed, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Every detail had clearly been thought through, from the quality furnishings and thoughtful layout to the outdoor seating area with stunning views across the countryside towards Loch Lomond. It felt luxurious whilst still retaining the charm of a glamping-style experience. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, providing great local recommendations and even treating us to a complimentary breakfast, which was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The location is peaceful and scenic, yet only a short drive from Balloch and the southern shores of Loch Lomond. We enjoyed relaxing evenings on the terrace with a glass of wine, watching the changing light across the landscape. The resident Swiss Mountain Dog was also a delightful bonus and very popular with guests! The only thing to note is that while Balloch is convenient, it isn’t the prettiest town itself. However, Stoneymollan’s elevated setting means you feel completely removed from it, and nearby places such as Luss are easily accessible. We would happily return and would highly recommend Stoneymollan to anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful and memorable base from which to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding area.
