A good, well equipped apartment to use as your base for exploring around Loch Lomond

Nice location, the Duck Bay Hotel is a pleasant walk for meals/coffees. The accommodation is comfortable and very well equipped. Nice to have bread, milk etc. supplied - thank you!

We were a little unsure upon arrival as the stairwell walls were scruffy, but the apartment itself is very nice. The bedroom window has a broken side trim which allows for road noise and cold air entry - will be an issue in colder weather. Lovely bathroom but extractor fan not working which will cause steam/water damage if not fixed.

Perfect for a small family

We loved so much about this place. Very spacious, high ceilings, huge bath! Mostly in pristine condition. The beautiful grounds and small private beach on the Loch. The hosts left us plenty of consumables you don't often get in self catering apartments. The location is perfect for a family, close to the local town but still very quiet and private. So much to see and do nearby, or a perfect base to travel further into the wild.

We recommend the flat for couples

Beautiful area and great with walking distance to a few nearby restaurants. Good size for 2 people. No traffic noise. Beautiful garden.

Pity the flat doesn’t face the lake side. The kitchen supplies need an overview, if it’s supposed to accomodate self-catering. The welcome package was poor quality. Better to have skipped it.

Very welcoming property with stunning views.

Sofa bed is very uncomfortable, but served a purpose. Fresh paint would be good in some areas, but presentable and clean all the same.. Very nice feature entrance. This is the second time we have stayed at property and would highly recommend.

Quality accommodation in a beautiful setting.

A bottle of wine, milk, juice, bread and butter were left for us which were really appreciated after a long journey. The bed was comfortable and so was the sofa in the lounge. The building has a fabulous location by Loch Lomond.

Apart from not being able to turn off the bathroom radiator - nothing.

Shower. It was very hot and shower screen meant you could not use without scalding hands. Had to use cloth to turn off. Controls had no hot or cold indication. Thought it was quite dangerous.

Well equipped, comfy, clean

Two things stood out: no external lighting outside the house. Very dark when you entered or exited the house at night. There are lights there but weren’t switched on. We couldn’t find light switch. There was also a lot of rubbish on the ground in the bin store including broken bottles.

The views where amazing. On arrival we found a lovely welcome pack …all our favourites Lurpak butter Warburtons bread Milk Jams Wine Cereals Gina ,the lady we had to get in touch with if we had problems was brilliant . Nothing was too much trouble …Very polite and welcoming .

Stunning location right on the Loch

What a little Gem! Fabulous location right on the Loch. Ok there wasn't a view of the Loch from our window but we never book a property just to look out the window. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was extremely helpful in guiding us to the private beach the property shares with the other apartments. Here we were able to launch our paddle board and spend an amazing few hours on the Loch. The apartment had everything we could possibly need for our two day stay and a bonus welcome pack was very generous. Thank you Liz for a memorable stay on our travels this summer. Will definitely recommend a stay and wouldn't hesitate to rebook the next time we are in the area.

The accommodation was right on the Loch. So beautiful and quiet. Also very tastefully furnished and incredibly clean! They also provided bread, milk, a bottle of wine and basics ie tea and coffee! Very impressed and would go back.

Well equipped kitchen, good location & secure parking.

Smelt very bad, was far to hot with no cooling available, as the apartment isn’t facing the river, which has the breeze! We requested a fan, which was delivered for our final night. The beds are not comfortable. The idea of staying in ‘Lomond Castle’ is much nicer than reality. The flat opposite (which you have to pass to get to No. 7) smelt like something, or someone had died and this, unfortunately lingers into No. 7.
