The staff were very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean with a nice bathroom. The buffet breakfast was very good with enough choice. Great location near to the train station for easy access to Amsterdam. The local town was very nice. Also a short ride to Zaanse Shans.

The rooms were very clean and modern. Air conditioning works perfectly, we preferred to keep it off however as we don’t like to with a breeze. The staff were really friendly and the housekeeping was a very nice touch. €100 deposit required on check-in by card (doesn’t matter if it’s credit or debit) and was returned to us 5 hours after check out - I used revolut for reference. Right next to to train station and AH supermarket and the local area is beautiful and worth a visit. Would definitely consider staying here while visiting Amsterdam - trains are frequent and only takes 15 minutes into centraal, with the last return being at 1am. Would recommend and would visit again

The hotel staff are great but the room I was given (a double deluxe) did not live up to my expectations. I was in a room on the 5th floor in the annex building, so one of the furthest rooms from reception. While it was modern, there was only one velux window pointing up to the sky (so zero view apart from the overcast skies) and the room felt like one big closet. There is a gap at the bottom of the door which means the room gets flooded with the light from the corridor at night. Hangers in the wardrobe are those awful anti-theft ones. And the rainfall shower pressure was very poor, although the handheld shower was nice. There is no water provided for guests in the room and there is just one tiny miniature bottle of body wash and hair conditioner in the bathroom. Luckily, there is an Albert Heijn supermarket opposite the hotel where you can buy toiletries. I did appreciate the location of the hotel (great bus and train connections) and I did like the restaurant (a great kipschnitzel!). Breakfast was slightly spoiled by the hard boiled eggs which just fell apart when I tried to shell them, and with only two coffee machines, there can be a big queue for your daily fix of caffeine in the morning.

Stay overall was good, staff were friendly and attentive, have to knock a star off though when my initial room was already occupied! Aside from that, just minor issues, not restocking coffee stirrers, not restocking towels on one day. On the positive side, the hotel is really nice, the rooms were comfy and roomy with air filtration systems. Bathroom was well equipped and sensibly designed. I just feel like it might be due for a slight modernisation, the TV doesn't have either an HDMI input or casting ability, so only free to air (and weirdly defaults to a Cuban TV station). The card reader in the room wasnt secure to the wall, and so on. Location wise, there is a supermarket literally 60 seconds away, the train station is a three minute walk and fully staffed! Useful for travel cards. The Zaandam shopping centre is right next to the train station, a five minute ride in one direction gets you to the Zaan Schans area, and ten minutes the other way gets you to central Amsterdam. If you are flying in, the train goes from the airport to Zaandam bypassing the city centre! So, well placed, good quality hotel.

This hotel was perfect as we wanted to visit Alkmaar and Zaanse Schans - it is also a stone's throw awáy from Amsterdan. The hotel is off the boardwalk so itiw more quiet and the rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel staff were super nice and provided all the amenities we needed. Great service

This hotel is little bit tricky to valuate, mainly nothing wrong with it but still didn’t like it so much. But value for the price is good I would say. Room was spacious and bed was big but room was quite empty. We had tree identical rooms, my room had very good a/c and it was operated from the room but in other rooms that was not the case. Bathroom was nice. Some things in room are pretty high, like hooks and sink - not a problem though if you are not very short :) Restaurant had nice lunch and dinner but I didn’t like breakfast which we luckily had only one morning. Zaandam shopping street and train station are basically right next to hotel so that is handy and we had breakfast in cafe nearby ( Lagom which I recommed). Easy train ride to Amsterdam and with daily ticket you can go back and forth as many times as you want. There is a empty fridge in the room and grocery store right next to hotel. Parking was really handy and not too expensive. Small park in front off the hotel seemed to collect some weird people and Zaandam feels like suburb for Amsterdam but traveling with car I would definately choose this over Amsterdam. And this is great location to do daily trips to see Netherlands.

Well equipped room, comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Great that we could hire bikes from the hotel. Easy to get to and from the train station and didn't take long to get into Amsterdam. Zaandam restaurants were nice but the walk there in the evening we felt uncomfortable with the many youths hanging about.

I stayed at the Zaan Hotel last September, rather than pay triple the price in central Amsterdam and I accidentally discovered a gem. Zaandam is a beautiful peaceful place, two train stops from Amsterdam Centraal with all the advantages and none of the hassles. The Zaan Hotel forms a triangle with the station and a large supermarket, approximately three minutes walk from each other. The rooms at the hotel have everything you need, including meals and a bar, but I didn’t make use of those. It was just too easy to self cater with a fridge in the room, tea and coffee making facilities…the staff were always pleasant and smiling. And the wifi was excellent! And the lighting, which isn’t always the case. My only criticism would be that I’d come back from a day of pounding the streets at 3pm and housekeeping had still not been, so I couldn’t really relax until they had come. But that’s a problem I have with many hotels, and it’s a very small criticism. The housekeeping people always did an excellent job.

I loved that the property was directly across from the train station. It was a 15 minute ride to Amsterdam. Also a small grocery shop and cafe across the street. The staff was very helpful. However for the price of almost 200€ for a regular room they called "delux" it left a lot to desire. The room was very basic, stacked mattresses with blankets. They picked the best looking rooms for the website it seems. I was looking forward to the pink rooms shown online..instead green rug and beije wall. Its hard to justify the cost other than the convenience of the train station.

Restaurant generally good (aside from a minor hiccup on the Sun evening) but food, good, helpful staff and can cater for gluten free. Clean comfortable rooms with everything you need. Enjoyed our visit, would stay again

Front desk staff Jale is not helpful and hustling, on July 1 I informed her the liking pipe under sink and stated the DND light was on due to the forgetting, I wanted to authorize hotel maintenance staff to enter my room in writing. She refused. I told her be flexible them I went up my room to turn off D ND light which made me miss the train and late for my activity. The worst part of her is being sarcastic, on my way to exit of the hotel, she said “good morning” to me behind my back, there were no other customers at front desk at that moment. On July 2nd, the pipe liking again, the DND light was on too, I informed here about the issues and told her that “wait until I get back, don’t let people get into my room” she is hypocritical, she did the opposite way as she said on July 1st. As I came back from my tour, I told front desk staff to sent maintenance to my room. I was furious, for the two different results for the same situation.
