Inn to the Woods B&B

We had a great time celebrating our anniversary on San Juan Island and relaxing at this Bed and Breakfast. We took breakfast in our room, soaked in the private hot tub and relaxed in the cozy room. Service and hospitality was top notch. You can tell lots of thought went into the details and guest comfort. Breakfast was amazing.

We stayed as a couple in the Forest room and absolutely loved the private hot tub with great view of the forest. The B&B is set in a beautiful forest setting and great view of the lake. Breakfasts were amazing.

Amazing people. Great property

The positives: The property is quaint and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. They provided a nescafe coffee machine and also gifted us with a bottle of wine for our 20th anniversary. Our private room was on the upper level in an older building and was away from the main building. We could hear the birds singing in the mornings and look out at the views through the window. The negatives: I was very disappointed in the cleaniliness of the room, hot tub, and common buildings, especially as others had stated how clean it was! The windows were dirty, the walls weren't clean (especially near the floor and the baseboards), the hot tub did not inspire confidence in it's cleanliness (steps into the hot-tub and the water). Before we even unpacked our bags, I wiped down the headboard, footboard, night tables and other high use surfaces. The "spa" was just a regular bathroom with spa like robes on hangers. Our king size bed had a well used mattress that had lost it's firmness. The mattress had a bed bug cover (which was dirty), but the old box springs (2 twins) did not have a cover at all. I would not recommend this property.

The beds were comfortable and the location was very quiet. The breakfast was very good and there were fun things put out in the room like cookies and soaps made in Friday Harbor. It was a bit more quirky than we expected.

The parking was a little difficult. It was a dirt driveway that was a little tight. You had to drive up around some trees. Not too bad but not super convenient. We were greeted by Nancy’s son, I believe his name was Jamie. Je greeted us kindly. He showed us to the room and left us a drink and warm cookies. He gave us an envelope that included the time to check out. Breakfast. And Nancy’s cell phone number. The room name we were in (lake view) and code to the front door. Our room was with a queen bed. The parts I loved about the room: small and cozy. Clean. Had filtered water. Tea/coffee. Cups. Fun toiletries. It looks like they were all made locally. Nice sunlight in the room. Mini fridge. The things I didn’t like: the walls are thin. On the other side of one wall was outdoor eating. The other wall was the lounge /sitting room. We could easily hear conversations of other people so it was clear that they could hear what noise we made from our room. Also when we were seated to eat, the tables were super close so i felt like there wasn’t much privacy. Otherwise, very friendly. Very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great and they were very accommodating to allergies and food preferences. They gave us our space and didn’t bother us when we were going in and out of the place. The trail was short but it was a fun thing to do in the evening. I enjoyed my stay. I would give them a 8/10.

Inn at the Woods was beautiful and tranquil. We were greeted and set up in the Forest Room, which offered a great view of the trees and the Sportsman Lake across the street. We brought our two dogs, which made great use of the nearby loop trail. It’s just a short drive from Friday Harbor town, and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely visit again!

Great breakfast!

Very comfortable and quiet, which was exactly what I was looking for. Accommodating when I asked to arrive early. Quick to respond with any questions and very polite! A few areas for walking, I’m sure if u explored more around the property I would have found more. I didn’t take advantage if the free breakfast however I’m sure it would have been excellent by the wonderful smells.

We had a perfect getaway. Vanessa and her husband were amazing hosts. The room was large - with our own hot tub. We enjoyed the quiet & view. The common areas were well decorated and the outdoor porch amazing with flower’s & hummingbirds. We were greeted with a celebratory bottle of wine. We truly felt cared for and tended to. Property is a small slice of paradise on the eastern part of the island ~4 miles from Friday Harbor. Surrounded by trees with great views of Sportsman Lake across the road it is a private secluded retreat with great hosts and excellent facilities. We stayed in the Forest Room which has a private hot tub and jetted tub in the bathroom. The hosts did an excellent job making us feel welcomed and breakfast was great each day of our stay with small touches added to make our experience celebrating our wedding anniversary more memorable. Would stay there again and highly recommend to first timers to the San Juans or repeat visitors. Thanks again.

Beautiful property and rooms. Ours had a view of the peaceful lake across the street. Everything was relaxing, comfortable and clean. Lots of attention to detail and little perks abound, such as toiletries from the local lavender farm and a useful map (no cell data on much of the island) and coffee/tea and snacks. Breakfast was delicious with our own pot of hot coffee and again, more little details like heated seat pads. They even called us before our trip to find out our preferences so that our breakfast was tailored to our tastes. Good wi-fi which is really helpful on SJI — look up everything you need before you head out! Staff was super nice. And I love when properties have pets around for when I miss mine (though if you don’t care for that they mostly stay out of sight). Thank you for a perfect stay and can’t wait to return!

The staff at Inn to the Woods were outstanding. The breakfast was so good. The room was well appointed and comfortable - for us humans and our pooch. The property was beautiful. Short drive from Friday Harbor (~10 min) and not far from Roche Harbor (~15-20 min). Would definitely stay again.

Loved our experience, the breakfast was tasty and had a beautiful view, the host was welcoming, the room was good, and loved the extra touches the place had to make it cozy.

This place is a gem! Minutes outside of Friday Harbor and seconds from Duck Soup (best restaurant on the island) the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Sara the great Pryenees, such a gentle soul, our dog just adored her! They have a nice trail they the woods. I had forgot just how dark it gets in the woods and so very quite we could listen to the rain from bed. And the Breakfast! Dutch Baby, Strada and local coffee and teas!! We cannot wait to return to the heart of San Juan & inn to the woods!

Remote enough to be peaceful, but still easy to navigate back to town. SO many little touches that were very nice. Map on the table was way more useful than expected as our cell service was fairly spotty. Overall the place was GREAT!

Nice and secluded, this property was convenient to Roche harbor. Our first experience at a B and B. Owners very accommodating. Loved the room and our own private hottub and space. Full breakfast every morning was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.

Really nice little bed and breakfast. Great service, everything was clean, enjoyed the private hot tub. Wifi didn't really work which is a little frustrating since there isn't any cell service there.
