A home away from home.

The breakfast and general care for our comfort was spectacular. If you don't want to interface with the proprietors there is ample information available to plan for yourself but their recommendations were spot on.

The hills getting to and from town, but we were bike-ins and did that to ourselves, lol. Overall, the island could do a lot more to be bike-friendly, but the Trumpeter Inn had a bike rack which is more than most!

Beautiful rural area that was still close to the village. Hospitality was top notch. The included breakfast was fresh and gourmet. Our host was friendly and welcoming. We would stay there again and will recommend it to others.

Our sense of peace was immediate. My highly driven husband fell asleep on the super comfy bed for an afternoon nap - never happens! An Inn with so much heart & old world service - we were treated with such friendliness, courtesy & care by Claudia & family. I loved feeding their goats & llamas. You could taste the owners generous spirit in their delicious hot breakfast & complimentary baked goodies. I want people I know to experience this place. Thank you for this perfect getaway. ♥️

Trumpeter Inn is a lovely place to spent when visiting San Juan Island. It’s a great location, super quite and idyllic but still very close to Friday Harbor. The entire place is filled love and care, you can feel that Claudia and her family are very passionate about what they are doing. Everyday there is great breakfast, almost all of it being self-made, everyday there are fresh baked cookies and food to feed the lovely goats and Alpakas. After 5 nights at Trumpeter Inn we very sad to leave. We would come back any time!

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly! Home/room was decorated beautifully and very light-filled. Beautiful grounds and fun animals to watch (mini goats and alpacas) breakfast was fantastic!

I would 100% recommend Trumpeter as a place to stay, especially as somewhere peaceful!

Trumpeter is a small family run bed and breakfast! When I reached out about food allergies in the party, they were very receptive and made sure that there would be safe foods for everyone in our party. The breakfasts were delicious, the room where the three of us stayed was spacious and comfortable, and it was an excellent place to explore San Juan Island from (with a car or probably with bikes). The grounds were beautiful, and it was really fun to be able to see the goats and alpacas.

Probably the only downside of Trumpeter is that it's a bit far from the main stretch of Friday Harbor (or other attractions). Even that comes with a plus though: it's beautifully quiet! Overall, as long as you're coming with a driver or bikes, I'd say that the distance from the ferry and other modes of transport around the island is more than worth it!

A total gem of a place to stay on San Juan island

We absolutely loved our stay at Trumpeter Inn. It's in a beautiful spot just outside Friday Harbour (we walked back after dinner 35 mins). Everything is impeccably clean and comfortable and the breakfast was the best we've had on our tour up the North-West coast. Claudia and her husband were welcoming and knowledgeable and we loved having some inside areas to chilll out as a family as well as visiting the alpacas and goats. A total gem - we suspect Trumpeter Inn is the best kept (or newest) secret on San Juan Island.

This stay easily broke the scale for overall best stay location that I've been too.

Everything about this place was outstanding! From the location, to the room, to the breakfast (made daily by the wonderful host), even the alpacas and goats on the land. Everything was beyond expectations. We really loved our stay and the host made it even more great than the trip already was.

Claudia was fantastic host. Breakfast was excellent, and she adjusted to my diabetic, low carb needs. Our stay was tops in all our travels. If you are looking for a tranquil setting and superb service, look no further. We have already booked our next stay!
