Excellent stay — comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable

We had a very positive experience at Hotel Steinerwirt1493. The location is excellent — everything is close and very convenient. The hotel fully met our expectations. The rooftop jacuzzi on the patio is a great feature and was a real highlight of our stay. The staff is friendly, supportive, and always ready to help. We had an early departure at 5 a.m., and they kindly prepared breakfast to go for us — a very thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated. Overall, everything was great, and we were fully satisfied with our stay. The only small detail is that the room was a bit too warm at night, but it is a minor issue. Highly recommended.

Excellent situation but not a hotel I would return to.

Property was in a good location, 5 mins walk to the lake, two mins to the bus station.

Rooms were very basic, even though we had an upgrade room. Tea and coffee wasn’t topped up, cups and glasses were not cleaned. Housekeeping sadly lacking.

Cosy hotel with excellent value

Location is very central few steps from bus station and from train station. They offer summer card which is a great value. The staff is very helpful and cheerful. The room despite small but very clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is very good . The jacuzzi in the top floor among the nature is fantastic experience.

They can add some small items to breakfast like yogurt, however still breakfast is very good

Great location, and really comfortable rooms! The breakfast was delicious. But, the staff were the best part. Every one of them went out of their way to be friendly and nice. We really enjoyed our stay!

Would stay again for short stay

Breakfast was great, staff super friendly and helpful.

Noise from other rooms, it was loud, eg we could hear phone alarms of others through walk. Bathroom was odd in a corner cupboard, felt cramped.

A little bit pricey

Very friendly staff - the receptionist was helpful, giving out a lot of information. The room was a good size - we had a room with 4 beds. There were 2 rooms actually, separated by a sliding door. The room was also clean. The breakfast was good. There were not that many choices, but they were fresh. You had ham and cheese, joghurt and jam. They also prepare scrambled eggs, fried eggs, soft oder hard boiled eggs. You have to ask for this, but there is a sign at the table informing you of the matter. The position of the hotel is good - on the main street, but also in the vecinity of the old town. You can also walk to the lake, it takes just 5 minutes.

They do not have their own garage. You can unload your luggage in front of the hotel, but there is not much room for a car there. You can leave your car at the city hall garage for 15 Euros a day. It is just across the road and they give out a card at the reception. The noise insolation could be better. There was a band playing in the city center and you could hear it until about midnight. The bathroom was a little small and akward, also a bit cheap looking. This being an old building, they had to improvise. The bathroom is in the room itself, but it was added on and looks just a little bit funny. The fan in the bathroom made a lot of noise, so if you have to use it in the night, you will wake someone up. The price was a little steep for one night. I ended up paying about 270 Euros for one night with garage and breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Decent option for the price but no AC/fan in summer!

Very centrally located (right in front of the cathedral and within walking distance to the bus to access the cable cars), has a free parking lot and the hotel also provides with the Summer card which gives you access to lots of activities in Zell

The room has no AC/fan (which I hadn't realised when I booked the room) and is facing the main road. Travelled in June so I had to leave the windows open at night which meant I could hear every car that went by the main road into the wee hours. It also only comes with one pillow and has no mini-fridge.

Nicely appointed reasonable size rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice included breakfast. Great location to walk down to the lake in the nicest area

Friendly and fair

Prices are very fair. Location is excellent located right in the middle of Zell am See. Staff is always very friendly and polite. The breakfast is quite good, especially since it’s included in the price. Their restaurant is also very reasonably priced and the food is generally very good.

Lamp in my room was broken, other than that, experienced no issues.

A great ski hotel with a fine modern and traditional mix

Fantastic hotel and Julia and all staff were exceptional and accomodating with very good sized rooms and a wonderful rooftop spa and jacuzzi, loved the food and restaurant with highly efficient staff there too, very central and convenient for skiing too as very close to lifts and ski bus stop, loved our stay

Fair but needs work

Most of the staff were very friendly. Keen to help and be accommodating. Two of the girls in particular were very professional. Breakfast was efficient and had plenty of choices. The price for three nights was reasonable for what you get.

My room in particular, was dated and in dire need of modernizing. Extremely hot with little ventilation. Some other rooms had a fan - just provide all rooms with one. The restaurant booking / checking in was non-existent. No point making a reservation if you have to wait anyway! One restaurant server in particular could benefit from some people skills development.

Hotel with the basics. 1Mbps internet. Couldn't watch any streaming service or make a call. Unnaceptable nowadays. Restaurant full. No priority for guests. Theoritically we should have a view to the mountain. However 95% of the view was the house in front. Deception...

If you don't care about Wi-Fi, this is an amazing value for money option

If you come to ZELL AM SEE to ski / snowboard, this is a super convenient hotel. Top location (on the Main Street) - all restaurants and shops are nearby, bus to Kaprun is across the road, cityXpress ski lift is just a few houses away, Achleitner (very nice rental shop for skiing equipment) - also across the street. Very friendly staff. Breakfast OK, but gets repetitive on day 3.

Wi-Fi. Incredibly slow internet wi-fi speed across the whole hotel (tried several rooms and common areas). 2 mb/s max speed, should not really qualify for "Wi-Fi" badge on the booking website - yes you can use internet, but forget live calls etc. Luckily hotel is very central so 5G on my phone worked fine (250+ mb/s).

It was all just great. Highly recommend this place and especially their restaurant. Food was amazing, Sauna, jacuzzi, relaxation lounge, room etc. all the services were very nice. Staff is very friendly. Restaurant is great for lunch and dinner also recommended by the locals.
