Staff was very friendly and you couldn’t beat the location…. Right next to the Duomo. Room had been recently renovated and was comfortable

One thing people absolutely need to know before booking: the stairs situation is very real. There are multiple levels of stairs, no elevator, and no assistance with luggage. You are carrying everything yourself. If you’re in decent physical shape and traveling light, it’s manageable. But if you have heavy suitcases, mobility issues, or are older travelers, this could become a serious problem. Keep that in mind before booking. The walk from the train station was fine for us, although again, it depends on how much luggage you’re dragging. I’m guessing you could probably get a taxi closer if needed. The biggest positive about this place was definitely the location. If you want to stay right in the historic heart of Florence, this really delivers. Walking around the area felt authentic and historic, and honestly I would still choose this over staying at a modern chain hotel outside the city center. That said, the Expedia photos definitely oversold the room. The room itself was very average and much smaller and less impressive than expected. There was also basically no view — just walls and neighboring buildings outside the windows. One thing I really appreciated was the staff. The people working the front desk were friendly and helpful, which is not always the case in smaller European properties where you sometimes barely even see anyone working there. Overall: fantastic location and authentic Florence atmosphere, but expectations for the actual room should be kept realistic

This is a cheap and old hotel that has great location. Our bedroom and bathroom were separate rooms across the hallway with same key to access, both bedroom and bathroom were very clean and spacious, the bedsheets were of great quality. We dropped our luggage in ghe morning before checkin, and left our luggage in the reception room after checkout, so that we could tour the city, this was very convenient. There is no lift in this property, the street level to the reception room is 2 levels, from reception room to our room is another 2 levels.

Bel Duomo is a small B and B type accommodation. It is located very close to the Duomo, perfect for sightseeing. The bed was comfy and there was air-conditioning. They include vouchers for breakfast at a nearby cafe, but we didn't use it.
