The hotel was situated in a lovely part of town, close to everything that we wanted to visit. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great - fresh and good variety. We had a wonderful stay here.

The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, next to Piazza Maggiore, and surrounded by plenty of great coffee shops and restaurants. The property itself is spotless and tastefully decorated in classic Italian style, which adds a lot of charm. However, we had a few disappointments: - The room was quite compact. For the price and the hotel’s 4-star rating, we expected something a bit more spacious and comfortable. - Despite informing the hotel several times that our stay was part of a 40th birthday and babymoon celebration, there were no special touches—no welcome note, gift, platter, or even a small gesture. During our two-week trip through Italy, staying at 4- and 5-star hotels in Sicily, Bologna, Florence, and Rome, this was the only property that did nothing to make the occasion feel special. - The shower lacks a curtain or partition, so water ends up all over the floor—an annoying and easily fixable issue. In summary: great location and clean, charming décor, but the lack of attention to detail and comfort made the experience feel less than expected for a 4-star stay.

The property is beautiful, specifically the landscaping. The flora, trees, and plants add a beauty to the property. The staff is friendly, professional, and courteous. They gave us a late check out without any issues. The pool is spacious. They have a tennis court. I look forward to coming back.

This is a lovely hotel in the historic district. Major sights are within walking distance, and the area offers numerous dining options, Trattoria del Buon Tempo among the best. The staff is professional, yet friendly, and extremely helpful. If I travel to Bologna again, I will definitely stay here.

Unfortunately, on the first night of my stay the hotel hosted a private event at night in the breakfast/dining area that went past midnight and the thumping of music could be heard above in most guest room areas. Many guests were furious the next morning and the hotel disclaimed responsibility, claiming that the restaurant is under separate management. For this level of hotel, a guest deserves a quiet stay. I have been a guest at Corona D'Oro in the past but will look elsewhere next time.

Beautiful hotel, well located close to main attractions. Relatively tiny rooms with limited technology (old TV) and ancient bathroom. Correct breakfast with sufficient choice. VIP access with room enhancement was requested but not offered by the hotel (a premium was request to have the superior room whereas it was supposed to be offered for free thanks to VIP access).

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Mary from Sicily was a super star. The cuisine in the hotel is average. Menu items very salty and not enjoyable. Prefer tableclothes on tables for dinner service. Dining room in general needs upgrading. Ivan, the new manager, seems to be the person with the knowledge and experience to make this happen. Overall I would return to this hotel. I was disappointed to see a beautiful city ruined by graffiti.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Corona d'Oro. The location is excellent and the property itself is even better. We stayed in the suite and it was absolutely perfect. We were given a tour by the manager, who was just the loveliest. Was truly impressed with the room and the amenities within it. Wished we could have stayed longer.
