Leonardo Hotel Heidelberg City Center

Good location and clean.

We walked from the train station and back and enjoyed our one day visit to Heidelberg. The hotel was a welcome respite.

I stayed here on 2 separate occasions and have enjoyed my stay both times. Great location downtown with short walk to key places. breakfast options aren't bad and there is paid parking in a garage below the hotel

Bar was not open Service was overstrained during breakfast There is only one small elevator. It takes ages to get a cabin with space.

Staff was a real mix. Some were incredibly nice while others clearly didn't want to be at work and were uninterested in helping out the guests. Ran out of hand soap the last night and then ran out of shampoo/soap in the shower on my last morning before check out. Big bottles in use and no one bothers to check them in the 4 days I am there. Left dirty mugs and glasses in my room the entire time. Came in every day, made the bed and changed the dirty towels but left everything else as it was.

The property is conveniently located to the medical facilities in Im Neuenheimer Feld. The hotel is clean and offers all basic amenities.

A few issues with the room, which were quickly resolved,

Parking in the hotel garage was challenging. Several spaces were filled with hotel items such as rolls of carpet and wooden pallets plus the ticket system machine refused to accept the paper parking tickets. There were many stacked on top of the exiting machine as it failed to even pull the ticket in to be read. Multiple trips to the front desk to try another ticket, eventually told to press the button on the machine to alert the front desk staff to open the gate.

Very patient, helpful staff with English speaking guests. Location is good. Breakfast is ok. They were easily able to accommodate my wife and I and teenage son in one room with a bed for everyone.

Run-down hotel not worth the price

Great location, super friendly and helpful staff. Near public transport and a great grocery store. Very nice breakfast

Loved the view and everywhere being so close to walk to!

The hotel was within easy reach of the old town and a couple of excellent places for food notably the Qube Only disappointment was the quality of towels

Overall a nice stay and priced well.

Have stayed here 5 times. Enjoy the area.

I know it’s not W, but for the price: 1. The lobby and lift smells like ammonia (mild rotten egg) 2. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was on the vanity top instead of affix to the wall. 3. The bath/shower was very narrow - anyone who is “bigger” than 180cm / 85kg will struggle to shower in it. Hotel staffs were friendly and the location is great to be a base to explore Heidelberg.

The light in the bathroom was not working. The service man used the lamp from the living room and put it in the bathroom instead.

Very convenient to town and some rooms have a good view of the town

Excellent central location for shops and historic centre

Cental location and walkable from railway station, also in walking distance of old town, castle etc. Decent room for the cost, reception was busy on check-in and fairly long wait to register / get keys.

Breakfast was excellent! The first. Ugh this the air conditioning wasn’t working so it was quite hot but for the next two nights it worked great.

Modest outdated room and bathroom. Carpet needs replacement! Bath, no shower. Tea maker, no coffee machine (a big pity) and a small fridge. Friendly and helpful staff. Traffic noise, not too bad at night. Comfy bed and pillows. Hotel parking underground cost 17€. Free street parking 7pm-8am on weekdays, after 2pm on Saturday and the whole day on Sunday. The rest of the time there is a parking meter 2€/hour, maximum 2hours. Another option is underground Parking P15 Klinikum Bergheim at 250m from the hotel 10€/1day, 17€/2day… Narrow driveway in front of the hotel to load/unload the luggage. 10-minute walk to downtown. No bad wifi.

Well-located, large clean room, friendly staff.

The hotel was satisfactory - it was close to the city centre and not too far of a walk from the train station (about 10 minutes). The rooms were spacious and had all the necessities which you would look for - kettle, tea, etc. The coffee at reception was a little bit of a let down being instant rather than machine coffee (I'm not referring to breakfast coffee, but rather the free coffee provided at reception). Other hotels offer machine coffee which is a little more sophisticated. However, I would have rated this hotel 4 stars - BUT wifi was a letdown for me. Wifi would often disconnect and for some reason, my Samsung phone would have significant issues with the wifi connection. My laptop would connect, but my Samsung phone would not - and I have never had any issues with any other hotels I've been at with connection to my phone as I've had here. Just a shout out in case you also have a Samsung phone. As I was here for business, needing good wifi was an important aspect for me. Otherwise, my stay was good. Another issue is that the hotel only has ONE elevator. This can be problematic, particularly during COVID when only one family should use the elevator at a time. Luckly I was on the third floor so could take the stairs, but felt for those on the higher levels. Also, temperature controls with the air conditioning wouldn't work very well, as I am a warm sleeper. Ended up keeping the window open at night (would be good if they had a fly screen).
