Great base for short stay in Kendal

Spotlessly clean. Secure. Quiet. Well equipped. Off street parking. Very short walk to the town centre.

WiFi was intermittent, but I was able to use my mobile instead.

Lovely lodge and great hosts

The lodge was small but very well designed to maximise space. Super comfortable and had everything required to make a perfect weekend break. Location was good, very close to the town centre but nice and quiet. Glyn and Christine were very attentive and communication prior to arrival was excellent :)

A bright, cosy, and beautifully designed place with thoughtful touches and a lovely host!

Everything! The bed was so comfy, and the glass panels in the roof made it beautifully bright even in November. It was easy to reach, and Glyn was so friendly. The space is small but so cleverly set up and super cosy, and we even got Kendal mint cake and milk in the fridge, which was such a nice touch!

Peaceful break in the Lakes.

Location is close to the centre of Kendal. Perfect if you wish to go out for an evening meal. The Lodge itself is beautiful and well thought out: all the amenities you could need. Ideal base for hiking in the Fells.

When booking, we did not realise the Lodge was in someone's back garden. However, this was our error and we should have read further before booking. If you can see past this the Lodge itself is beautiful, the area is quiet, and the hosts are lovely.

Cosy and modern retreat minutes from the centre

Fantastic lodge and it was evident every little feature had been thought about to maximise the space (loved the skylights too!). Outdoor decking space was an extra bonus, and being covered meant opportunity to sit outside regardless of the weather. Lovely little welcome supplies of Kendal mint cake, Dairy Milk and milk alongside tea and coffee was lovely. The owners were extremely helpful and shared their local knowledge and just a general conversation about the day if they saw you, but privacy was always maintained. We stayed here as part of our visit included a friend's wedding in nearby Staveley and the location was spot on. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of Kendal with a real selection of food and drink options. The Factory Tap, Ring O' Bells and The Barrel House were firm favourites! Plenty of information is provided in the lodge about the area too.

Perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

We loved everything. Perfect place for a peaceful getaway, 5 minutes walk into Kendal. Everything you could need in this pristine, modern and yet cosy lodge. One of the nicest places we have stayed in and we have been around the UK over the years. Glyn & Christine please take a bow 👏

Easy to find and great location. Great for a quiet break. Bed and sofa both comfy. Very easy to relax and unwind. Would recommend to others and great value for money

If I had to be picky the only thing I would suggest is maybe some baking trays / dishes for in the oven.

Quaint, clean, well-equipped and sustainable. It is smallish, but quite big enough, and had everything we needed for a great stay. Extras like Google Home and TV streaming service were nice touches. Great value for money. Loved the huge roof windows!

Wow. It’s seldom often the property outdoes or even resembles the images. This place is stunningly designed; every detail well thought out. To the point I thought (if I could live here, I would!)

I liked it all! I was nervous about going out to watch a movie at the Brewery Arts but was conscious as to what was considered too late, given there’s a Ring doorbell on the front door which you pass to come into the property. I could have asked though - my bad! Otherwise loved it.

It was such a treat to stay at La'al lodge and I would highly recommend this property.

Great location and only 5 minute walk from town centre. The property was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy in the cold weather (it snowed). Attention had been paid to every detail, from milk and chocolate in the fridge to Google Home! The bed was so comfortable too. The local area was lovely and quiet and not overlooked.

Only one slight snag of frozen water pipe in extremely cold weather, but this was sorted out with out delay and measures taken to prevent further issues. Thankyou. There was nothing to dislike. The property was a perfect get away.

Perfect little lodge

Not enough room to write about all the fantastic things I could say about this lodge. Yes it’s in someone’s back garden, is that an issue? NO!!! The lodge itself was amazing, immaculate, fantastic use of space, such attention to detail. Glyn & Christine (hosts) have really thought of everything. Perfect location, very short walk into town centre, less than 30min drive to other activities. Plenty of things to do nearby, great local places to eat, drink etc. Plus added bonus of friendly cats to greet you in the mornings. Me & my partner had a fantastic few days away here, my partner wants his own lodge haha Would recommend & hopefully book again myself.

Not sure where but maybe more hooks or something in bathroom to hang towels on. Plus maybe a mirror in main area for us women doing our hair haha (maybe one on a stand) ?? Minor things but thoroughly enjoyed our stay 😍😍

Ideal peaceful location in a little lodge

We liked the location, and the fact we could walk to places in Kendal for dinner or to explore. There are good bus connections all over the lake district. The accommodation was quiet, and very private despite being at the bottom of a garden. Although small, it had everything we needed and it was comfortable. We didn't have much interaction with the hosts due to self check-in and check-out, but when we did bump into them they were friendly and kind.

It would've been even better to have an aerial/satellite cable to the TV to watch things on there but this was only something minor and we could use the apps on the TV to watch something else instead.

The lodge is so well appointed, all high quality, even the toilet paper and kitchen roll are better quality. It's was very easy to park and entry to lodge was so simple. It's a family run lodge and this shows in the detail. Absolutely fantastic visit.

An extension lead or mirror in main room would be helpful as wife had to use mirror finish on extractor to dry her hair
