Love it!

House is located in the National park Triglav so the nature around the house is breathtaking. We stayed in snowseason and staff didnt mind if the kids were slading in front of the house. We had room with shared bathroom and everything was very clean. Staff is super helpful and friendly. I highly recomand and we cant wait to visit again.

Heartwarming stay

Our stay here was heartwarming, the location is beautiful, we had everything we needed for our 2 night stay, beds are comfortable, dinner was delicious, there were enough options for breakfast and we loved the it felt as if we visited a relative. If we ever travel to this area again, this will be the place to go back to. .

Beautiful location

Very nice location high up in the Vrsic pass with stunning mountain views. Breakfast on the stoep overlooking the valley and the mountains was superb. Nice restaurant. Breakfast not included. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and really helped us out with problems that we had at the time. I would stay there again.

Perfect lodge style location. Loads of hiking options at your doorstep .

Loved the location high up on the Višic Pass. Spectacular setting, surrounded by peaks. Tanya the manager/owner was so knowledgeable & helpful providing suitable trail options & weather conditions. Rooms are simple lodge style , no tv’s & some with share bathrooms. The onsite restaurant serves great value bfsts , lunch & dinners. Perfect location.

Location terrific, stay terrible

The view and the stunning views when you drive to the location. The hard working women who run the hotel. The breakfast is good.

The entry is disorganized. Very narrow stairs to the rooms. The room is very basic but still quite expensive (€100+ per night). The matresses on the bed are terrible, you are broken when you go out of your bed. The sheets are low quality. The walls are paper thin, you hear everything your neighbours are doing. The towels etc are either worn out or of poor quality. The door to the bathroom pinches. Insects in the room.

Can't get a better breakfastview

Amazing location, with stunning views. Hosts were really nice and welcoming. Rooms are basic, and you could hear people in the hall pretty well, but as it is in a location where most people go hiking/mountainbiking/... everyone goes to bed pretty early (or at least during our stay) so there was no noise left when we went to bed, a non issue for us, but could be something you fall over.

The four bed room with bathroom was clean. The room was modest but was ok considering it is a mountain hotel. The view from the room and the views outside the hotel are great. It has a cosy dining room with a nice 'mountain atmosphere'.

Amazing experience surrounded by the Alps

Great place in the middle of the mountains. Fully run by super nice, helping and detailed oriented women. We had a room with a shared bathroom and it was always clean. There is a beautiful balcony where you can enjoy the views, read or eat. You can even be surprised by cows grazing in the grass around the hotel. Breakfast was great, hot and cold options. Eggs are cooked to your liking. Good selection of dinner options in the menu as well. We will come back!

Pleasant

Rooms were suprisingly sound proof and beds good, sufficiently spaced for a sleep-over after hikes. Nothing fancythough - standard mountain cabin rooms, with clean shared showers (which were busy).

I believed there was supose to be WiFi, but there was none. Location was ok, but the closes track was closed so we had to drive daily to the closest beginnings of hikes (or walk extra km) - our bad we did not check in advance.

Hostel conditions for hotel prices

We (a family of 3) had a basic but clean hostel room with 4 beds. The bathroom was next to us, it was very clean and well-maintained. The staff members were friendly and breakfast was abundant: cold cuts, cheese, vegetables, fresh fruits, hot cocoa etc. The view from the restaurant terrace is unbeatable.

The room could have been better equipped, e.g. individual lamps for the beds (there was just one giant light which was too bright). Bath towels would also be nice - we received hand towels only. The mattresses are also old and need to be replaced. Wi-fi did not work in the rooms.

Location good, basic stay

This is a good overnight stopover / base for cyclists or adventurers. It has basic comforts, it’s clean and a reasonable restaurant attached. A good location to reach nearby attractions.

Unfortunately, we are working on the road so we needed Wifi and the Wifi was intermittent at best, sometimes inaccessible for hours and we also didn’t have network connection. We also found parking difficult as it is a popular stop due to the restaurant, so separate / designated parking for guests would have been desirable.

Simple lodging in a prime location

This historic building is in an excellent location, not only for stunning views out window and balcony, but for the easy access to the top of Vrsic Pass. Our family of 5 shared one of the family-rooms which consisted of a double bed and sets of bunk beds and a private bath. Access to our room was with a tight spiral staircase, so anyone with mobility issues should be aware. The decor, while spartan, has a distinct alpine feel that well suits the location. An optional breakfast for $8 is offered in the dining room and consists of yogurt, cereal, meat, cheese, bread, eggs and fresh fruit and juice. The view from the covered porch at breakfast was incredible. The excellent coffee was plentiful. We appreciated the cheerful and helpful staff.

Koča na Gozdu is a perfect place to stay if you plan to visit Slovenian mountains. Location is perfect, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but very tidy, shared bathroom is also clean. Nice breakfast is also available.
