Great location, poor vfm

Fabulous location, lovely comfortable apartment.

The property description didn’t make it clear that this was a first floor apartment, accessed via an external metal staircase, which was totally unsuitable for our needs (injured dog, can’t do stairs, we had to carry him, and although we’re very spritely and lively, we’re in our 60s and it was not easy). If we’d known this beforehand, we would never have booked this apartment. There was no hair dryer, which I find unbelievable in this day and age, we had been given the wrong code for the key safe, and the parking description implied it was much easier than it was, so I would advise anyone to work out where the nearest long stay car parks are before you get to the property.

Perfect location for the town.

The convenience of the location. The kitchen appliances were in good order.

We found the bed too soft(personal choice). The only two glasses in the property were dirty. Handle missing on door. Stains on sofa. We paid £174 per night so would expect the inside of the property to be in order.

Great location, but let down by easily-rectified lack of attention to the customer experience

The location in Bury St Edmunds was ideal - easy walking distance from the town and its main places of interest. The apartment itself was fine for a couple of nights.

The arrival experience was poor. The instructions for getting into the property were inaccurate; it took us a while to work it out and entry was through an alley littered with abandoned furniture and equipment (vacuum cleaner, TV) where the bins were kept, up a fire escape staircase. The bed wasn't very comfortable. There was no welcome pack with info about the property (heating system, etc) and there was no parking pass, as described. There were a few random screws and fixings around the place and the under-sink shelves that had a paint brush and other evidence of maintenance in the bathroom, hadn't been cleaned.

the property was very good, but there were a few issues, bathroom tap was very loose, shower tray filled very quickly had to keep turning the shower off and onto stop the tray overflowing.. The kitchen fridge hadn’t been cleaned or the cupboard under the sink, or worktops and front of units. I had to vacuum as I don’t think it had been done, certainly under the cushion on the sofa is in need of cleaning.. Think the cleaners need to be aware of all that I’ve mentioned.
