Quirky room in an ancient coaching with 21st century comfort. Would recommend on all levels.

All you need in one place, bar restaurant and accommodation

We chose the location because it was midway between National Trust places we were visiting. Also parking was very important to us - there is plenty. This is a pub, restaurant with accommodation - perfect. We had everything we needed on site. A cosy bar area with log fire. A good sized restaurant with superb menu choices and specials. All the staff were really friendly and lovely. A delicious breakfast - pre order the evening before. Plenty of choice. Our room was behind the restaurant in the courtyard car park. Quiet and large. The bed was super comfortable. Tea/coffee tray. Everything we could need.

We loved our room but if it had been raining we would have needed an umbrella for the short distance between the main building and the room. Small point and it wouldn't stop us from booking again.

Room warm and cozy on arrival. Offered fresh milk on arrival. Room large warm and well appointed. Fresh bottled water etc. Food outstanding, quality and choice inc allergy menu and adapted. Staff amazing, friendly abd helpful. Can’t wait to visit again.

Fantastic stay

Ideal location for us, quiet nights sleep in a super comfy bed. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Lots of choice of tea/coffee etc and we were given a jug of fresh milk which was fantastic. Room was beautiful and clean with super shower and bath all spotlessly clean. Wish we had time to stay more nights. Food in the restaurant was delightful couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely return

The Woodhouse Arms was great - we arrived on a Friday night and the pub was buzzing! The staff were all very friendly, the food was delicious and the room was great value for money. The only negative is that the bathtub didn’t feel strong enough to hold a person when trying to use the overhead shower (neither my husband or I are particularly large!) but other than that everything was great, thank you!

Excellent accommodation with welcoming staff.

Room spacious and well equipped including ground coffee and cafetière. Very comfortable bed. Room in a separate block from the main pub so it was nice and quiet. Food excellent and breakfast outstanding with high quality fruit juice and fresh pastries. Gluten free options available and staff knowledgeable so able to advise. A great place to stay.

The location for what we went for was perfect. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the breakfast was first class. The rooms were very clean,the bed very comfortable and the bathroom spotless with a good shower. The bar was very friendly and the staff were always on the ball.

Excellent meals...we have stayed here before on our way to our holiday cottage(s) and will definitely do so again

everything fab....even during a village power outage the staff made sure we would be fed if the power hadn't returned...it did after 30 mins so it was fine.

Quality and presentation of all our meals was very high. The staff were very welcoming and showed an interest in our visitor/stay.

The bed was a bit soft. There was no storage space for none hanging items.

Location suited us as we were visiting family in the village. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bathroom a bit old-fashioned. A walk in shower would be an improvement on having to climb into the bath. The price was a bit steep, even by today's standards.

Lovely room, styled like a bungalow. Clean and tidy with coffee and tea making facilities. Soft and fluffy bath towels. Comfy bed. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice.

The windowcin the bed room didn't lock so couldn't leave open on a night as the latch didn't work.

The place is clean, tidy, lovely location a few minutes drive from A1. It’s a nice rural village location and aside from the accommodation has good restaurant and pub and is dog friendly. The food and drink was good quality and cooked really nicely and presented and a CV nice selection of drinks too. The staff are first class and very friendly and polite and helpful and like to check that everything is ok. A lot of places could learn from the staff. First time staying and will definitely use again. Thanks The Woodhouse Arms.
