Appartamenti I Giardini Di Villa Melzi

We stayed in apartment Alberto. There was a small balcony big enough for 2 people to sit and eat. The views from the balcony of the lake were amazing. It was a basic but comfortable studio with a comfortable bed, a new bathroom and good internet. The stars of the show were being able to park right by the side of the Melzi Gardens and being able to walk through and explore the gardens for free by showing the apartment key. The gardens are truly beautiful and warrant a couple of hours to visit as well as being the easiest pathway through to Bellagio between 10am & 6.30pm. There is a lovely restaurant just by the entrance to the gardens right by the edge of the lake.

There is a very steep climb up wooden stairs to the apartment. This is not suitable for anyone without reasonable fitness especially if you have heavy suitcases. Communication with the host was via WhatsApp and I had to initiate it to get details of how to access the apartment. Then she sent clear details and photos with information and instructions.

The property is just next to the melzi garden which gives you free access to garden and don’t pay 9 euro for entry but only between 10 am -7 pm . 25 mins walk to bellagio centre (a bit uphill) when garden can’t be accessed.Room was spacious.had, iron, hairdryer, scissors , basic necessities. Restraunt downstairs.The owner pinged on watsapp and shared the details.

It has mostly one room which has view of the lake other are big stay rooms with kitchen and bathroom. Would have been nice to meet the staff as it was asked to pickup the key downstair and leave it there itself. Also water or some powder coffee sachets would have been a nice welcoming.

Great location with free access to the historic Villa Melzi gardens and convenient walking access to Bellagio and the ferry terminals. Quiet and peaceful location away from the crowds of Bellagio. Private parking was essential.

No elevator — be prepared to haul your luggage up a couple flights of stairs.

Quiet location with lovely views of the lake. Near to the Gardens and were allowed to walk through for free to Bellagio which cut out the big hill if walking.

A long walk to the supermarket which was closed for 3 hours over lunchtime. Apartment a bit tired especially the bathroom but adequate. Needs a bit of attention. Unfortunately we left after the first night as in the building next door there was total renovation building work going on starting at 7am. It appears to be a long term project so may go on for some time so check before booking as we weren't informed of this and had been going on for some time already.
