Practical hotel close to Hamburg Altona train station

NIce hotel, very close to Hamburg Altona train station. Extremely practical for train travellers.

Breakfast location was very strange. Access either from the outside, or via a labyrinth of staircases, upper floors and elevator. Room & bed design was also a bit strange. Very narrow access to bathroom, between bed and wall.

No manners or respekt for their guest

best western plus hamburg altona has no manners. I have been to many hotel, in many countries. I have never experienced anywhere besides best western germany that they come and knock on your door 3 times before 12 noon to pressure you into early checkout. At 10 they knocked the door and yelled room clean despite they know i am inside and checking out that day. At 11 they came and said check out, despite check out is at 12. At 12 the lady knocked hard on my door and told me to come out immediately. it has happened at every best western I have been to, I even tried in bremen he opened the door exactly at 11 and shouted check out!

- One of the pillows was comfortable. - Nice view from window. - Enjoyed the train sounds. - Great location to the station.

- Nothing special. - Wanted a double bed but got two single beds. - No elevator to fourth floor. - The room was way too warm (made me feel sick). - Silver fish bugs which indicate uncleanliness. - Way too small: like we got Harry Potter’s closet.

Near centrum, good localization, rooms was very clear, breakfast was tasty.

Personel doesnt speak in english only german language.

Good location, bad service

The location is good - right in front of Altona train station and 3km from the city center. The breakfast is good, although the staff is always rushing the guests.

I went there to run the marathon, the breakfast was at 07h on sunday. I asked if they could open 30 minutes earlier (06:30 AM) or at least give me some bread, and jam/marmalade or bananas, the night before. Both requests were denied. They didn't open early and didn't even give me a single piece of food. Not a good hotel if you're running. Also, we had to request the cleaning of the room - 24h without doing it.

The location is great.

Breakfast is way too expensive and its organisation is more fitting for military baracks than for a hotel. And 09h45 you're 'kindly' asked to finish. Totally unacceptable!
