A stop-over
The location on the edge of the town but 10 minutes walk to the restaurants and bars.
The pillows needed to be replaced with ones that were actually comfortable!! For a stop-over hotel, you really need somewhere that offers a good nights sleep.

Another great & very comfortable stay in Saint-Omer!
I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions for work & it is my go-to choice. It's in a great location for work & easy to reach from Le Shuttle, I can park the car securely & as a female travelling alone, I feel safe & comfortable.
Check-in is always smooth & staff are super friendly.
Rooms are clean & comfortable & beds are also super-comfy.
Restaurant opens at 7pm & food is good & fairly reasonable. Breakfast is also decent in the morning - a great selection & choice of items.
I will return here as I work locally on occasion & it's my hotel of choice & I thoroughly enjoy my stay.
The shower was fairly poor - the water pressure being so low, there was almost no point to having a shower at all! And the thermostat in the room for the heating/AC, which was mounted on the wall in the main part of the bedroom glowed a bright white all night long, which was quite disturbing & very frustrating.

Restaurant food disappointing.

One of the best stopover hotels in northern France.
Really good room in terms of space, furnishings, toilet, and decor. Particularly good for my wife who has reduced mobility.
Good food and drink offer - and not at an exploitative cost.
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff.
Good parking facility.

Handy stop before the tunnel
This was a great place to stop with only one hour's drive to the tunnel. The hotel was a little dated but it gave us all we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The car park was secure which was a bonus as we had two motorcycles. I would probably stay here again if we were using the tunnel to return home.

Great Hotel in a great town!
We loved the location of this hotel and stayed here before leaving France; it is near Calais without feeling that you have already left France! The canals are nearby and it is an easy walk into the centre of town. The rooms were spacious, airy and clean, and we enjoyed the opportunity to watch Netflix and YouTube after three weeks away.
Although the staff in Reception were helpful and friendly, and the food excellent, we found the service in the restaurant less than adequate; service was slow, and not very friendly when we asked again for a drink to be delivered to our table.
As non-dog owners, we also disliked the idea of dogs being brought to sit under tables in the restaurant; there was quite a bit of barking when one dog took offence at another! I only hope that the hotel does not put clients without dogs into rooms that have previously had dogs in them!

Perfect hotel for an easy, comfortable stop over.
Gorgeous hotel- well decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms and easy to get to. Secure parking (a fee of €12) to pay but worth it. Family room was perfect for a one night stopover. Very well located to get to Calais. Lovely touch of leaving games for the kids to play in our room. Breakfast was good- lots on offer.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner but unfortunately the service wasn’t amazing and we ended up waiting for over an hour to get our main courses- which when you have exhausted and hungry children with you was not ideal.

Good hotel for a visit to St. Omer
I liked that it was clean and the staff was nice.
I didn't like that water was coming out of the shower, and the floor became wet, as the glass was too narrow.

OK
The room smelled lovely, was spotless and big enough for our one night.
The food in the restaurant was not great, I had veg burger that was burnt, husband's 'rump' steak was a thin cut folded in half and fries were covered in salt.

Poor food quality...evening meal we did not pay for as it was so bad.
Breakfast terrible. Bacon not cooked, sausages greasy and disgusting. Toaster didn't work. No cloths or napkins to hold the bread to cut it .... Unhygienic... Coffee awful.
We won't return it's overpriced and it's poor.

Breakfast should have been included in the price and you have to cook your own eggs but it takes ages at least 10 mins!

It was further from town centre than we had thought on booking. The drain wheel for the bath was a bit tricky at times.

Great outside area, which is unusual for Mercure hotels. A lovely building in a nice setting. Staff were able to provide a light dinner, even though the kitchen was technically closed.

Clean, ideal location
The response of staff to me when I queried the bill after dinner. I was subjected to an uncomfortable and unpleasant confrontation, in a very public place.

Excellent hotel & St Omer very charming.
We arrived at the hotel en route to Le Shuttle after a long day's drive. The secure parking is round the corner from the hotel but you can leave your car temporarily in a small parking area in front of the hotel whilst you check-in etc. The hotel is excellent...very clean & the bed was comfortable. It's a ten or so minute walk to the centre....St. Omer is a lovely town & we enjoyed our evening there, plenty of places to eat. The buffet breakfast was very generous including hot food, excellent bread & local specialities. The drive the next morning to Le Shuttle took 40 minutes. Would thoroughly recommend.

really nice hotel with good restaurant and nice location
nice location and parking facility. hotel is equipped with all the comforts needed and you can see it meets the chain standards. for breakfast there is nice selections of local products and diverse choice.
the airconditioning is a bit noisy and doesn't work well, also in the hotel spaces was not a comfortable temperature. for breakfast many products were finished and not replaced quickly by the staff. it needs some overview by staff members fruit selection was poor

Terrible Breakfast
Rooms are renovated, large shower, generally of good appearance. Secure Paid parking available in rear. French speaking tv channels.
We chose the hotel as many of the reviews praised the breakfast. We had so many poor culinary experiences in France we were hoping for something decent. Off course when compared to other offerings this is likely an improvement, but it was woefully organised with terrible service. Being quite a busy hotel, i suspect there were 40 or more patrons eating, the staff were completely overwhelmed, there were no plates, no cutlery, no glasses, no cups, the crepe stand empty, the various jam glasses empty, nutella jar empty, bacon oily and wet. We and others resorted to looking around for a table that had been cleared and set, the only tables were either cleared and not set missing all you need for breakfast, or full of the trash from a previousy used group. So we chose a cleared table but could not find any cutlery, glasses or plates, so we asked a young waitress who said she would sort it but never did, she was on go slow, slightly above working age, had no sense of urgency. She would take a glass and plate in her hand from a room filled with dirty plates and slowly walk them to the kitchen. There was no supervision either, no one in control no one with oversight. So people resorted to taking cutlery etc from newly set tables. This would again cause shortages in set tables. It was a disaster. All credit to the cook who, with his casual clothes meant for the kitchen, wearing an apron, rushed around the breakfast room trying to replace empty milk bottles, clear tables, give complaining customers knives and forks. I suspect his efforts to do the job of the service staff meant he was behind on cooking. I almost felt sorry for him when I realised I was paying a premium for poor service and lack of organisation. Despite most patrons being english speaking, everything was in french, people.struggled. i think westeners are too kind in their appraisals, they see a crepe stand and a selection of breads here and say its an amazing breakfast but I was very dissappointed.

We had a wonderful stay it was perfect. We have no doubt we will visit here again as a stop off.
The staff all! very polite and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with indoor and outdoor dinning areas. Plentiful choice at Breakfast. The restaurant we found to be very good and ate there our first evening, food was delicious.. The location in Saint-Omer is perfect, a very beautiful town and very close to Calais (app 40Km)
I have no complaints at all
