Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay, even if it didn’t make the best first impression. The hotel is very close to the main railway station, which - like in most big cities - is not exactly the most charming or reassuring area, and Gare du Midi is no exception. That said, once you get past that initial hesitation, things improve quite a bit.
We had booked a “Deluxe Apartment,” which at first glance felt closer to a student dorm than anything deluxe - quite minimal and a bit under-equipped. A few simple upgrades, like more cutlery and a proper dining table instead of what is essentially a desk, would make a noticeable difference. On the plus side, the space itself is generous, and the high ceilings give it an airy, open feel.
The location turns out to be a real strength for those who want to explore Brussels on foot. It’s an easy and pleasant walk - about 30-40 minutes - to both the Art Nouveau district (including the Victor Horta Museum) and the city centre with the Magritte Museum. Importantly, you can reach both without having to pass through the station area, which makes exploring the city much more enjoyable.
One of the highlights was the management: responsive, helpful, and reassuringly attentive. Communication via text was quick and efficient, and it always felt like support was close at hand if needed.
I wouldn’t go as far as calling it - very good value for money, but given how expensive accommodation in central Brussels can be, the price felt fair for what we got. All things considered, we would definitely consider staying here again.

It was clean, had everything we needed, spacious and great location - not a long walk to the transport and heart of the city
There is no lift so not ideal carrying luggage and a buggy up to the top.

It was a comfortable stay, we had a small kitchenette, coffee, tea.
The gliding door at the bathroom, a bit inconvenient. There were shady people in that whole area, near the train station

Really close to the metro and train stations, so it’s really convenient to access the city. The smart lock on the doors were very easy to use.
It’s in a bit of a rough area of the city, so I was a bit worried walking to and from the place especially late at night. The room wasn’t very soundproof so heard sounds constantly through the night of people moving around, going up and down the stairs, slamming doors, and loud music. There was also a damp smell in the property that wasn’t very pleasant.
