Staying at Marco Polo

It was very close to Midi Zuid which is convenient when you're traveling by train. The hosts were quite helpful and went out of their way to take care of our needs when required. The place was clean spacious, enough for 5.

The kitchen could be better stocked, but was just enough for simple cooking needs. We didnt ask if more pots and pans were available.

Comfortable and reasonably equipped, but not a very nice location.

Easy to collect keys. Kitchen was clean and fairly well equipped. Large fridge. bathroom although tiny was clean and modern. Mobile fans helped keep us cool as it was very hot at night. Beds were comfortable.

Location wasn't nice. Walking through the local streets it was clear we weren't in the nicest part of town. Dirty and noisy part of Brussels, located close to the train station meant we were close to the main roads and the sirens were almost a constant feature at night. The 2 sleeping areas were only separated by a curtain.

The apartment is located centrally and the apartment had a good level of cleanliness , the kitchen is well equipped

1. Lack of lift , carring luggage through the steep and narrow stairway was very inconvenient 2. The second set of beds is on the mezannine floor , the stairs to this floor are steep and very inconvenient . Also this floor is not recommended for tall people as the roof slants

Near station, good for a night!

The bedroom & bathroom was spacious & clean. The advantage for us was that it was near the station. We didn't use the kitchen so can't comment on the cleanliness.

It was hot & the fan only turned at a very slow speed.

Think twice before you reserve

Convenient location if you need to frequenfly access the train station.

Owners don't speak much English, make it hard to communicate! No elevator, hard to carry luggage to the 4th floor. Room lock doesn't work well. Top floor room is very hot and stuffy for May, and the floor is dusty. The 100 dollar deposit system is not very friendly, making people feel threatened. The only reason that I kept the reservation was because I chose the no cancellation room by mistake. And the communication was a night mare after the reservation was made. The property is in an unsafe neighborhood, so we all have bad impression about Bruxelles.

Very disapointed appartment - very closed to the city center

Close to the city center

Location: - sketchy location in Brussels South, a lot of people hanging around in front of the entrance, sometimes staring you down - Door did NOT close well, which made it a safety issue. More than just a few times, we found the entrance door unlocked, giving people free acces to the appartment Appartment: - Extremely dated, you can clearly see water damage, damages furniture etc. - The floor is not properly leveled and was creaking crazy - NO ventilation at all - Bathroom is not ventilated at all -- mold hazard - Almost broken portable room cooler, that makes a LOT of noise Furthermore, it was not possible to store our luggage for a few hours after checkout. During check-in, we were informed that this would be possible, but at checkout, we were suddenly asked to pay 5 euros in cash. It felt like this charge was made up on the spot.

It was as described, the only problem was tin walls can hear neighbours but in the night it’s good as I’m tin sleeper , it was good , kids loved the place

Conveniently situated and well-equipped. Lots of handy little stores nearby.

Amazingly well equipped flat. Even a bidet hose in the bathroom (hooray!) and an actual teapot in the kitchen. Complimentary tea/coffee/biccies/cold water very welcome after hot journey. Easy walk from Gare MIDI.

Flamboyant decor not my personal taste, but why should it be? Massive deposit for key a little scary. At time of writing, huge building works for new Metro a pain.

Excellent location, very closed to Bruxelles Midi station. it’s on a small street away from the hustle and bustle tho. Lovely, bright spacious apartment (Florence), with a small balcony on the second floor. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Perhaps because I come from a rather backward and uncivilised former European country called England they took pity on me. I was even allowed to pay the security deposit in cash with pounds sterling, our funny little local currency, using old notes that had been printed long ago during the reign of Queen Elizabeth the Second. Lots of hot water for the shower, big fluffy towels and a large comfy sofa made for a very pleasant one night stay. My only concern was that when I got into bed last night I thought the mattress was terribly soft and worried I might not sleep. I was woken by the cleaners this morning an hour after I should have checked out. High.y recommended and I will be back.

Couldn’t work the smart tv. I’m from the era when all you had to do to watch TV was to switch it on and perhaps change channel. This one did seem more complicated than some and it might just have been me.. Check the tv at check in. Don’t wait til it’s 1am to discover you need a twelve year old to come and show you how it works.

Short and comfortable stay.

The apartment was really spacious and comfortable. It is very close to the Gare du Midi which makes travelling quite easy. The flat was really clean.

Well, the apartment is pretty old and everything looks like from the 60s but it is still convenient for a short stay. Although it's not modern and luxurious, it was very clean.

After we arrived we got upgrade of our apartment to better for free because better apartment was empty. It was really kind. Apartment was really big and luxury, and thats All for 30€ per nights.

the 66 narrow stairs up to the apartment; the bathroom worked but was rundown. the streets around the apartment did not feel safe.

Never stay at this place. They take a refundable deposit & retain your money without a valid reason

Location was fine, but the host is not a genuine person. Not recommended at all.

Extra Charges. Never stay at this location. They may ask for a refundable security deposit and then rob it from you. In my case they asked for a EUR 100 refundable security deposit and then when I returned the key they only retained EUR 50 and refunded only EUR 50 saying that we had left shoe marks on the bath mat floor towel. It is very unfair to claim EUR 50 for that. We had to leave without half of our money as we had to catch our flight. On top of that, as we were not happy about the above dispute, they had cancelled our reservation saying that we never showed up mentioning it as 'No Show reservation' in order to avoid a negative review from us. However, after writing to booking.com customer service with the check-in proof they opened up the review section for us. Still we didnt get the money that was robbed from us.

Overall it was a very comfortable apartment and I would consider staying here again if in Brussels.

We found Brussels a very difficult city to find your way as street signs are not on all the corners. The location while further away from the City Center was a couple of blocks from Gare Midi and Taxi's for transportation. The room was clean and great water pressure with the shower. We felt comfortable in the area and reception was wonderful.

We had a lady open the door to our apartment and turn on the light. When she saw the room was occupied she closed the door and left with no comment. The door locks automatically, and she knew where the light switch was, so we think she maybe had a key and was familiar with the apartment. But it certainly wasn't expected!
